So two people can't be together if they can't have kids? What?
Being adopted does not make you a outcast, that's just stupid.
They can be together, but don't call it a marrage if it's not between a Man and a Woman.
You know if you really want this so badly, why not move out, find some new land and found your own country like out forefathers did? Because you will never fully get it here.
I find it amusing how you all call anyone and everything that is remotely against anything that has the word homo or gay in it as being a homophobic.
Homosexual groups and lobbyists have definitely made all sorts of attempts to force people to respect or even convert to homosexuality. I keep readings articles of schools promoting homosexual activity and destroying heterosexual values. There's homosexual groups shouting "homophobia!" louder and even worse than any group shouting "racism!" This whole "I am gay and you will like me for it or you will pay dearly!" idea that some gay rights groups employ has rubbed off and tarnished gays as a whole. In all honesty, get them to shut the hell up and you may see people accepting gay marriage within a matter of a decade or two.
You're all taking too big a leap. Start off with Same Sex Civil Unions. That is gaining support at a good clip. Then take the next step to gay marriage.
And then there is such thing as conservative gays. (Yes, they really do exist. See here. http://www.gaypatriot.net/)
And to quote from an article in that site
On the other side of the country, in the Evergreen State, an initiative to approve the state’s domestic partnership law is ahead by about 2 points with half of all precincts reporting. If that margin holds, it would confirm polls showing increasing support for state recognition of same-sex civil unions, but steady opposition to gay marriage. In every state where citizens have been asked about gay marriage, they have voted it down, but by smaller margins than when such referenda first appeared on American ballots.
lol this is dumb as heck
a furry against gay marriage? are you a real life confurvative?
I never thought I'd see one in the wild
Gay conservatives...?
..The hell.

Doesn't that support the argument that it's a choice?

Because there's like plenty of land left to discover right.
[sp]I'm well aware that was rhetorical[/sp]

There isn't any new land.
And besides, invoking the will of the forefathers would actually mean that you support the changing of unjust laws. This country is founded on the principal that if the people don't like something, they have the power to bring change. "If you don't like it, get out" is fundamentally the most unamerican statement of the century.
I.. really still can't stand people that are against gay marriage (not that I'm gay). I mean its there own fucking choice... gtfo of their lifes
lol insecurity

Obviously I do

How about the situation where people were offended by the US flag IN the US?
Bawww majority of the people in that state don't like gay marriage.
As a conservative, I don't like the liberal policies in my state, but the majority of the people here still vote for them, so I don't bitch.
Correction, a majority of the state of Maine still needs God to tell them how to live their lives.
It is sad that shit like this still happens. Things like this make me glad to live in the most politically biased state in the country (Massachusetts).
even convert to homosexuality
that has nothing to do with it

yeah, basically once I read that, I knew there was nothing more to read.
Well, the people get to vote, they voted, gays lost. It's a democracy.
How about the situation where people were offended by the US flag IN the US?
I have no idea what you're talking about, but I'll try to address it as best I can:
Censorship is the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of communication, so I do not support this idea. However, if there are enough people who support such a crazy idea that they could actually pass legislation, that is totally fine with me. I'll just have to break the law.
This thread is disgusting. How can people honestly argue that people can't get married just because they are gay. Especially in America, Land of the Free my ass. I don't even want to get into the whole shit with churches being tax exempt and thus should not discriminate, but, the government has no right to decide if two people can get married. This shit is fucking stupid, and people wonder why anyone would be against religion.
I'd rather they just abolish marriage altogether, both straight and gay. I'm a homo, but even I realize that marriage does nothing but ruin lives.
Yea, marriage between two people who absolutely love each other NEVER happens.
Explains why my Grandparents have been together for 56 years, and they're the two happiest people I know.
Fuck Maine. I live here.
Fuck hicks too.

Because they are clearly only together because they are married. This kind of relationship would be completely impossible without a legal contract. Right.
Just because you're the majority doesn't make it right that you take away rights from others that you have.
This is called a "Dictatorship". You can take away peoples rights in a Dictatorship, because the dictator can do whatever the fuck he wants, due to military power.
It doesn't even say that.
If you're a christian, and you actually understand with the bible says, you know that new testament laws override old testament laws.
The only thing in the new testament that mentions anything remotely homosexual related is just a small snippet that mentions sodomy next to thieves and liars. Last time I checked, you don't have to be gay to commit sodomy. So why are all these religious groups bitching? Because they're ass backwards rednecks who can't read. If they want to follow old testament law, every time their kids talk back, they need to take them out and stone them to death or they'll go to hell.
As for Maine, I'd have to say that's exceptionally unexpected, like prop 8 passing in California. Issues like this can't be voted on. It's unthinkable that they would vote over people's rights.
Some translations of the Bible actually take it upon themselves to decide that the Greek word for "sodomy" translates into "homosexuality" and say that instead of sodomy.
It is quite sad that, in two thousand years, the human race hasn't realized that they don't need a book to tell them how to live their lives.
Damn right.
wait, not replying to the guy above me.

So why not just a entire town for these people but everyone who is not a homo is banned from even stopping there. See how long that lasts without adoption or birth clinics
