• P.E "not strenuous enough" say school inspectors

I actually failed PE in highschool because I had terrible social anxiety and refused to change or participate in any activities because I was literally terrified of the other kids. I just sat on the bleachers and watched.
I hated PE because I was (and still am) in bad shape. But what really made it terrible was the other students. They were all a bunch of macho dicks and annoying cheerleaders.
I said fuck you to gym class already in 1'st grade and I never had it ever since because I find sports incredibly boring and meaningless.

beep test fuck you [editline]14th February 2013[/editline] we just did rugby (actually organised rugby) on league rules and it was so good
In the same way that video games can be boring and meaningless? Or any other form of entertainment for that matter.
Yes, exactly. Some people find some activities boring.
We had these things: Until our teachers realized we were just running into each other at full speed no matter what we were supposed to be doing and took them away :v:
We had those (sans hand protectors) and i got the tip of my finger cut off when me and another kid slammed into each other, they got banned for a few years.
You run between two points, you have to reach each point before/as it bleeps, and it gradually get's faster. It's shit.
Oh so thats what its called. We did those a bit. I believe the constant pounding on my knee probably worsened the condition. Osteoarthritis is a bitch. I failed the stupid run thing anyways because i tend to limp. It was crap. I hate exercising worse than i did before that.
Man i loved P.E in highschool. It made me not be a fat fuck and got me into being healthy and during highschool i even used the weight room. When i was a freshman it was the first year my school had the P.E class so naturally we had to take it. However, they gave it to us again in our junior year because junior year we had to take a lot of state tests as well as sat tests so they saw P.E as a bullshit let off steam class because we played games in it in addition to fitness exercises. I still loved it but i hate how most of the girls just sat in the back whining about how "i ain't doin this shit i CAN'T do this shit im not doing 5 pushups wtf" while eating a bag of chips. Always eating something. I mean it's one thing to refuse to participate and be healthy for 40 minutes a day, but they refused to participate while eating cheetos. It didn't help that the class was mostly girls and they mostly all did that. I'm not coordinated at all and have horrible hand eye coordination so i was fantastic in the fitness parts and was ranked 3rd out of the school for a few fitness tests, even outranking people who practice every day for their sports of choice. But in sports games when we played them i was horrible, but i was comfortable enough around my classmates that i didn't care and would have fun. I wouldn't be the first choice when picking teams but i wasn't last because everyone knew i tried damn hard and if i did fuck up, i'd accept it and continue trying. My P.E teacher constantly used me as an example of the perfect mindset for P.E "This kid here, he can't play sports for shit but he doesn't care, he keeps trying and he's having fun". I was the kid during football/handegg that when he caught the ball, he was so damn happy he caught the thing that he just ran and accidentally ran the wrong way. P.E class was amazing and kids need to stop being lethargic lazy fat bastards and get up and have fun.
You guys are fucking lucky all you have to do is play football. We have the fucking Marines come in every week, it's insane
You guys are fucking lucky all you have to do is play football. We have the fucking Marines come in every week, it's insane
That happened when I was in JROTC. Had a USMC drill instructor as a guest pretty often, and he would run our drill practice.
P.E class was amazing and kids need to stop being lethargic lazy fat bastards and get up and have fun.
It's not always because they're lazy or fat. I was fit in high school but I was too worried about my peers judging me so I refused to participate in anything.

I like how I got out of P.E through a series of bullshit. Feel sorry for you all though.
I like how I got out of P.E through a series of bullshit. Feel sorry for you all though.
P.E. was fun even if you were out of shape, it was a break from the monotonous shit you did for the rest of the day
Fucking lucky cunt Im in Year 10 now and all we do is play football for an hour. PE in school nowadays is bullshit, 2 Theories classes (2 classes of Learning about PE. muscles,Joints ECT) and 1 lesson of physical education each week. and to be honest those 2 lessons of theory could be spent on other subjects that I actually do care about or need to improve on.
They made us take the bus every week too, so because of time they had to give us 2 hours, meaning we missed maths
Our P.E. teacher took attendance maybe three times a year, he was an incredibly fat and balding man. You could spend the entire time sitting in the bleachers doing nothing and still get an A. The fact that teachers like this get paid to sit around on a laptop all day is appalling.
Besides the occasional shuttle run / bleep test exercises, gym was quite fun. Usually we played softball, basketball, hockey or other team sports. At my school (in the Netherlands) they tried to interest you in different sports without wearing you out. None of that after I went to university though. Don't think that did much good for my current stamina level.
I just really hated it when we all had to change clothing in the same room, made me feel so uncomfortable, especially during swimming lessons.
P.E. was fun even if you were out of shape, it was a break from the monotonous shit you did for the rest of the day
To some probably. But for me it bought nothing but misery. Should I get the violin so that I can act like a jerk who says his life is worthless yet doesn't think so?
every year we do two days of zumba. In our health class we convinced our teacher to have her husband do a yoga class with us (he's a yoga instructor, and looks like gandhi)
The only thing I really hated about PE was getting all sweaty and feeling gross for the whole day.
If only we had some realization of this in arkansas. Arkansas PE, elementary and high school, consisted of 15 minutes of kickball or dodgeball then free time to lay around and be lazy. Whatever fitness we got out of it was removed by terrible filler foods in the cafeteria. Honestly, we should have kept the school vending machines. It would have provided at least a LITTLE extra funding towards physical education/healthier school lunches.
they made us fucking square dance in PE it was awful
We did that as well, for like one day. We would usually spend a week doing a single sport, and certain sports we would have "tournaments" for, like bad mitten where we would set up multiple nets and everyone in the class would go one-on-one and then rotate around.
You're lucky you got to play dodgeball. We were never allowed to because it's "too violent".
We technically didn't play dodgeball at my school. We had to play "Gatorball", a game where we threw "Gator Skin® Foam Balls" at each other. Apparently it was because they had to ban dodgeball to look like they were safety-conscious, but the PE teachers didn't want to actually bother learning any new games.
My school has gym makeups at the end of each quarter, like if you never do anything in class, don't change, cut, etc you get makeups (The most was only 4 at the end but I think they made it 8 now). Basically you have to be at the school by 6:45 AM sharp, you can't even be late by a minute or they will lock you out and it requires you to run back and forth from that time till like 7:15 AM no breaks. My school also has it that if you fail gym, the next year you have to double up on it meaning that on the days you have gym you will have two gym classes that day instead My school and gym class is the absolute worst
When I did P.E in Year 10 I got sick notes for every outdoor lesson during winter, I fucking hated Rugby/Football in the cold because after about 15-30 minutes my incredibly shit ability to do both sports went through the floor when I literally just stood, walked and shivered. The lessons were basically "ok, we know you're worthless because you didn't take the GCSE, but here, have some theory!" at which point nobody listened, the techniques we were told to use (which were in decline of mention since the previous years) weren't used and the teacher would throw a shit fit sometimes, and we then practiced on boring courses before either doing a game or saving it for later lessons. Variety of sport was basically this: Football, Basketball, Rugby, (for like 6-7 lessons each) Cricket + similar games (e.g Danish longball) and Swimming. Swimming was the only subject I liked because I could do about 500m+ by the age of ten. They gave us 4 lessons for that. In one year the swimming pool had to be refilled for 3 of the slots so we literally only got one.
Having asthma was a blessing for this, "please excuse my son from PE today as the cold weather has made his asthma worse"
Educating students on diet is much more important than strenuous PE sessions If weight loss/management is their goal anyway
Agreed, the fat ones usually just sit out anyway.
My P.E. class in high school was pretty alright. We had a choice of activity, and I always chose badminton. That shit was fun as hell.
My P.E. class in high school was pretty alright. We had a choice of activity, and I always chose badminton. I'm actually taking it again this year My friends and I always want to play badminton, that's the only thing that we actually look forward to
