Final line of the trailer is "Welcome back, Commander" Last time I heard that line was the announcement for Command & Conquer 4, and we all know how THAT turned out ;_;
Looks like we're the terrorists this time
Well if you think about it, [sp]either the rest of the Ethereals were successful in taming humanity to harness their latent potential against whatever 'else' was coming, or that 'else' came and did what the Ethereals failed to thanks to XCOM the first time around.[/sp] I have no doubt they're doing horrible things but we'll have to see if they're going out of their way to fuck with the populace under their noses or the aliens are actually fairly non-aggressive so long as people are compliant.
Yeah I can see humanity being easily crushed by an invading alien force. The invaders in XCOM behaved more like terrorists than they did like the covenant from halo
Man, that alien controlled Earth doesn't even look that bad. Imagine most of the human population being like, "ugh, those guys again, fucking it up for the rest of us."
It seems to be taking ideas from XCOM Apocalypse, which would be rad, having to manage a propaganda campaign would be sweet as hell.
Winter is coming bois :v: XCOM will consume us all.
-snoop-
Shit yeah, they said there will be great modding support, too.
So in the trailer we see a snakeman constricting an Xcom soldier. Thin men in Xcom:EU were the re-imagining of snakemen from the first Xcom game. Seekers from Xcom:EW could constrict people. That's right folks we now have a combination of thin men and seekers. You may panic now.
Snakewomen* [t]http://i.imgur.com/2skZ1fA.jpg[/t]
This is my fetish, instant buy, GOTY
I guess it's time for me to complete the first one. Lost interest half-way
Wonder what the deal with that pink alien is.
I think it's supposed to be a modified human. The alien empire in all the different XCOM mythologies are really into that shit.
I wonder if the Volunteer will make an appearance.
The comments on the IGN article hilarious "Waa why can't consoles get it :(((("
I'm convinced it's because of the massive influx of new pc purchases xcom received because of the Long War mod.
I wonder if the Volunteer will make an appearance.
I was about to say, [sp]didn't they die at the end? But then I looked it up and literally the first link was one of the designers explicitly saying that the volunteer doesn't die, and simply disappears before the temple ship explodes.[/sp] Huh.
don't get hyped don't get hyped don't get hyped [sp]HYPED[/sp]
Well if you think about it, [sp]either the rest of the Ethereals were successful in taming humanity to harness their latent potential against whatever 'else' was coming, or that 'else' came and did what the Ethereals failed to thanks to XCOM the first time around.[/sp] I have no doubt they're doing horrible things but we'll have to see if they're going out of their way to fuck with the populace under their noses or the aliens are actually fairly non-aggressive so long as people are compliant.
[sp]iirc, the whole plan to get humans to unlock their inner potential was for the humans to actually beat the aliens. The fact that humanity lost shows that they were considered unworthy.[/sp] I wonder if humans have become another caste of soldier in the alien's empire, like the aliens are out there looking for [sp]other races with psionic potential[/sp] and humans are waging war on them alongside sectoids and mutons.
So another thing that's pretty cool about this. XCOM has basically become EXALT, they blend in to population, run quick raids and try to disturb larger govermental organization. Only difference is, that XCOM doesn't like aliens.
holy shit I'm so fucking hyped SNAKEMEN CONFIRMED
Snakewomen* [t]http://i.imgur.com/2skZ1fA.jpg[/t]
why did they put boobs on the snake it's not even a mammal
why did they put boobs on the snake it's not even a mammal
Firaxis are a bunch of furries, obviously.
why did they put boobs on the snake it's not even a mammal
Because it's probably a human turned into one.
Firaxis are a bunch of furries, obviously.
They probably have members that are apart of the deviantart community.
The comments on the IGN article hilarious "Waa why can't consoles get it :(((("
XCOM:EU was a flop on consoles. Maybe console players should like strategy games more if they want to have strategy games made for them. If it really is PC-exclusive, then maybe, just maybe, the gameplay will be more complex this time around.
The comments on the IGN article hilarious "Waa why can't consoles get it :(((("
That's really not that hilarious. Let alone actually funny tbh. EU worked pretty well on consoles and introduced tons of people to turn based-squad based strategy games. The controls were pretty tight, and other than a few technical problems from only having 512MB of RAM, it worked pretty well. It's a bit of a shame. EU showed that you can actually do strategy shit on consoles fairly well. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline]
XCOM:EU was a flop on consoles. But Sony offering it through PS+ probably got it a few fans. I know that's what got me.
Looks like they're incorporating some form of stealth element judging from the screenshots and the trailers, could be interesting.
AWWWW YEAH My body truly wasn't ready. It's all that I hoped for and damn, no game in the last three years got me hyped that much. Time to play some XCOM: EW until this is out. Dayum.
Looks like they're incorporating some form of stealth element judging from the screenshots and the trailers, could be interesting.
Remember, any screenshot or gameplay video has a fifty-fifty chance of being bullshit. I've seen this happen before where they'll compose a scene in a certain way in promo materials to make it look like it has some kind of gameplay element when it really doesn't. They could be hyping up the game by tacitly promising gameplay features that don't exist, without the possibility of being caught actually lying.
Stream tomorrow apparently.
That statue is gr8
The Advent website is now just a redirect to the xcom 2 website. The bad ending is CONFIRMED to be canon for this game "Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces and XCOM, the planet's last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda below and eliminating all who dissent from their new order."
