I FUCKING CALLED IT. THEY EVEN HAVE A FLYING BASE I AM SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW. At least I think that was their base that appeared at the end. It looked like the new Skyranger entered it right before the Baseship rose. I'm quite curious to see what they'll do with a mobile base regarding mechanics. Hopefully it's more interesting than what was done in UFO: Aftershock.
This is on Unreal 4 right? Cause that has massively better building destruction physics. Like it was the only good thing about Hatred. If I can get that in my XCOM I'm gonna freak
Hopefully it builds on the remake and we get something as interesting and complex as the original Xcom I loved the reboot, but honestly I've played probably 100+ hours of the original Xcom, whereas the reboot I beat once and then never game back. I loved the streamlining of UI and gameplay, but I didn't like how they dumbed a lot of systems down and removed a lot of them too. A happy middleground is what I want, I hope they get it closer to correct this time. Whatever the case I'm buying the fuck out of this, the first game was worth the dosh and I expect this one to be as well.
So in the trailer the dude was carrying his fallen battle buddy... Can we finally carry our fallen back to the drop ship when things go south???
This is something I always want out of every TB/RTT game. I love the brutality of the harder difficulties and ironman modes but at the same time, you get invested in your troops as it progresses and if they die in an improbable way it's just frustrating. I really hope they bring back time units or action points or whatever, the blue/yellow move system from EU/EW works but I didn't like it, made the game feel too rigid. I still haven't finished EU or EW because I've been playing Longwar Ironman every time and I either get my arse kicked, end up having to deal with game-breaking crashes or both.

It can't be that hard to do coop, they've already got mutliplayer in the form of head-to-head, pls gimme the campaign mission with coop :(
This looks fucking great! Can't wait to buy it! [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Wait, how did the aliens take control of the earth though??? Also will Vahlen, Bradford and Shen be returning?
I think the meld was a Trap. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Why do you think the Volunteer is still alive?
Because it was officially announced by Jake Solomon who works at 2k that he/she still is, they just didn't get the point across very well in the cutscene apparently. Looks great, i will try and find some time to watch the stream tomorrow. Also, i'm really liking the fact the game is fully mod supported.
Why does the snek have boobs?
Is it going to be as shit, easy, and boring as Enemy Unknown became after one play through? Because if so I'll pass.
Why does the snek have boobs?
Snake'men' were always snakewomen.
To nurse her hybrid young,Duh That's not even a joke, Reptiles don't nurse sooooo.
It's just like one of my Japanese animes!
Oh fucking shit my heart is going to explode with the hype. This is the closest we'll get to a remake of Apocalypse gents. ahhh, it's so nice to live in the XXI century and seeing talented people get the money and the tools to pull off projects like this. I don't care how much it costs. If I have to sell my kidney for another XCOM game I'll do it.
I'd prefer each nationality to speak in their own language(Russians speak Russian, Egyptians speak Arabic, Japanese speak Japanese, etc.) for the flavor. But I'd settle for accents, and that would be the more realistic option, honestly.
They did actually make it available to have the different nationalities speak their native language in Enemy Within using the original localization voices.
I'd prefer accents. Seems weird for everyone to be speaking a different language. But voice acting and localizing that would be a nightmare.
They did actually make it available to have the different nationalities speak their native language in Enemy Within using the original localization voices.
But only for a couple of languages.
Guys Im starting to think that the "Evolved Sectoid" is just a Human that's after undergoing the same treatment that the original sectoids underwent. Implications unsettling...
Wow really liked the trailer, can't wait to see all the genetic changes and new aliens that appear in the game. Also being able to loot bodies now for gear is pretty cool. Day 1 buy for me can't wait!
Guys Im starting to think that the "Evolved Sectoid" is just a Human that's after undergoing the same treatment that the original sectoids underwent. Implications unsettling...
Definitely a possibility, but I'm more inclined to believe that it's a new breed of sectoid hybridized (is that how you spell it?) with humans. Either way, it's horrible and an excelent reason to blow aliens up.

They hinted in the Sectoid Bio in the last game that sectoidification could be a possibility if Humanity lost.
[sp]iirc, the whole plan to get humans to unlock their inner potential was for the humans to actually beat the aliens. The fact that humanity lost shows that they were considered unworthy.[/sp] I wonder if humans have become another caste of soldier in the alien's empire, like the aliens are out there looking for [sp]other races with psionic potential[/sp] and humans are waging war on them alongside sectoids and mutons.
Well, not exactly. [sp]The Aliens ramped up their attacks slowly in order to test us, the final test was us attacking the ship. What wasn't intended was for us to spit in their faces and kill the leader as well. But by doing that, all we really did was prove our strength beyond what they'd expected. Seeing Humans as very promising, they likely launched a real invasion to assimilate us into their "collection".[/sp]
I like the guerrilla aspect and it makes a lot more sense game play wise. It never made sense to me that the planet's combined coalition to prevent its eradication was a maximum of 6 people a mission.
I hope they add weapon sidegrades, having gun variants like the light plasma would be less boring than tier 1-2-3
But only for a couple of languages.
With the modding enabled. We might get a full cast.
I hope they don't dumb down base building since the base is mobile now which means it has to be smaller. Can't really expand with it like you could with the underground base. Unless you're slowly upgrading it into a helicarrier like fortress, then that would be pretty cool.
I don't see why people think [sp]The Bad Ending is canon just because this game may be about that. To me, this is a spinoff- what if you were to lose in Enemy Within? Would XCOM just cease to exist, or would they attempt to fight back? If it's the latter, then we'd get this game. I'm sure they'll eventually go back to post-EW after this game, showing the greater threat the Ethereals were talking about.[/sp]
