It's so sad
Stossel could be on any network I bet
but he's stuck on Fox
I remember him being on ABC but I didn't know he was on Fox now.
I love how Stossel is defending video games and is like "There's no evidence to support that"
And the other guy is like "you're absolutely right, we need to do studies" as if Stossel was somehow agreeing with him even though he was just countering.
This is John Stossel. He's not a pro-war anti freedom conservative. He's a real Libertarian.
We don't agree on everything but he's a genuine person with well thought out opinions.

Fox news guy.. critical of Bill O Reilly and in favor of drug legalization.
Excellent start for an argument
"Why do you think he's right?"
"Well, first of all John... God understands violence"
shut the video off right there
no bullshit
Honestly I wouldn't mind a well-done, unbiased study on the impact of video games on violence, if it's true that they don't cause violence (which I for one believe) then the results should only serve to confirm this and help quiet the people trying to use them as a scapegoat.

shut the video off right there
This is the exact reason so many people give believers a hard time. Because of morons like him.
It makes me sad.
You can tax consumer goods, but taxing video games based on their content is an infringement on 1st amendment rights. Video games may be games, but they're also artistic/creative output with messages, themes, and goals that are protected under the freedom of speech.
Like I said, games can be taxed as a consumer good. But beyond that, it just gets silly. Imagine if religious, political, or history books were taxed because of their content? That's a passive aggressive form of censorship.
I won't lie. I'm violent as fuck...
... in video games.
Better to be simulated, than to be actually happening... and it's proven itself in statistics.
Probably started it like that to win over the Christian viewers immediately.
Fox News has a lot of Christian reporters. That or they just really want to win over the community that listens to anything and think it's true.

The reporter (John Stossel) is an Agnostic. Black sheep on Fox. Thats for sure.
One of the only times Fox is actually "fair and balanced".
When the hell did Fox pick up John Stossel
Didn't he used to be on Dateline NBC
Can't wait until Saints Row 4 comes out when they discover that the president of the U.S is a psychopath.

That's not how praying works.
You don't pray for someone to just go away, or for someone to get better. You pray for someone to come in and help get rid of violence, or for a doctor to do everything he can to help someone recover.
I know FP is like, 99.991% against religion, but come on. At least try to be somewhat informed on the subject you're criticizing.
Doesn't mean I agree with the guy in the video, he's a moron.
He's bringing religion into the mix to try and pull the christians onto his side. There's no other reason to bring god up in a debate like this and the fact he did that adds to the fact he's clueless about this whole thing.
I was not expecting this from a Fox News interview. Now don't get me wrong, I might not be too qualified to judge here, since I am not from the states, but both sides said reasonable things. Well the old religious nut dude didn't so much, but him admitting that there is still a giant lack of knowledge on this, which does need to be researched and studied, suprised me. I didn't expect that to come from him.
From what I normally perceived from Fox News interviews, this was, for once, a really mature discussion.
I quote "these kids wanna dress up like the guys in the game and grab their rifles and commit crimes" what the fuck. I have yet to see anyone dress up like master chief and massacre people. They're just talking out of their asses now.
Stossel is probably the only Fox News reporter that I can stand
he's not really a reporter but Andy Levy is on FOX News and he is fuckin cool
Old people trying to blame something they have no understand on for corrupting the young. Whats new, this is a fad that repeats it self severy decade or so.
Stossel has always been a pretty cool guy
"I- I- I- I really don't know"
he sounds like a caricature of himself.

I wonder what our generation will blame imaginary social decay on. Maybe virtual reality?
The moment I heard the word GOD I stopped the video.
I like how they keep mentioning violent TV and movies but nnnooo, it's videogames that are bad and that should be taxed. Solely because a lot more people would flip a shit if they had to pay a "violence tax" to watch Fast and Furious 10 or A Game of Thrones rather than to play BF4.

You missed watching an old guy stumble on his own words and get thoroughly wrecked
Stossel is about the only guy on Fox networks worth watching.

actually he left ABC for Fox.

To be fair, FOX is probably more fun. You can pretty much just wing it, as long as you're attractive and conservative.
pretty sure the majority of shootings caused by children under the age of 18 was due to serious mental illness
Violent games aren't necessarily bad, but I wouldn't call them good in any way. America is obsessed with violence and it is pervasive in all forms of media. The culture should shy away from violence.
I think I need to listen to more of John's video to give a good detail on what he is, he sound like a good guy to look forward to on getting interesting information on strong subject debates. Although this nut-job of a priest really presented a awful response on the violent video games. "God understands violence"? Never meet god, never heard a single word from him, all i heard is the bible this, god says that, don't really believe it because their is no evidence of his existence. Not a good way to represent a good debate when you first represent religion right off the bat when you speak of American politics, as American represent secular, not Christianity.
I remember a study about video games effecting young people with the results being that it's not how violent a game is, it's how competitive it is that provokes violence and anger.
