Dumb hipster shit, why not enjoy the 3D like everyone else
I can't see the 3D bullshit anyways because i don't have steroscopic vision - those would be the perfect glasses for me!
Dumb hipster shit, why not enjoy the 3D like everyone else
Headaches. Lots and lots of headaches.
You shouldn't be watching a flickering screen at all, then.
What would happen if you wore both these and 3D glasses
it would still be in 2D you idiot
Dumb hipster shit, why not enjoy the 3D like everyone else
Oh I don't know. Maybe the fact I have been mostly blind in my right eye since birth? Physical defects are a fucking pain, and as the article mentions, large cinemas are phasing out 2d shows in favour of more popular 3d showings.
You shouldn't be watching a flickering screen at all, then.
Dude, this is forcing people to see entertainment they want to watch while straining their eyes more and ruining their experience. Use your common sense.
I can definitely understand if you've got medical reasons, but I hardly think this product is geared towards you or anyone else with physical defects. It's for people who wants to be ~really edgy~ and defy the ~mainstream~. But if you can benefit, great.
I can't stand 3D movies, I get headaches from them.
I get headaches and I can't see the 3D effect. Fun times. Although I have not seen a recent 3D film, but everything 3D I have ever tried has that effect, why should I pay to find out if it still happens.
please stop your posts hurt
If there's anyone except people with medical backgrounds that can legitimately benefit from using these, please do tell. Whining about headaches and shit when you're staring into a blaring, flickering screen for two hours in a pitch black room even without the 3D doesn't cut it.

These would actually be useful.

If the cross-polarization 3D doesn't work for you, there's likely something wrong either with your eyes, or your visual cortex.
Don't be stupid do your maths it would be 5D glasses.
wow your dum, 3d glases over 2d glasses your supposed to divide. its obviously 1.5D. whats up with these kids pretending to know maths
What would happen if you wore both these and 3D glasses
One eye would probably be blinded
What would happen if you wore both these and 3D glasses
Depends how they've polarized their images. [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] If it's linearly polarized one of the eyes would cancel out and you'd see nothing through it. [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] I'm not positive it would work the same for circularly polarized light but it could. I will ask my electricity and magnetism professor later.

if I want to get rid of the 3d in a movie without having to see the "double vision" effect I just put on the 3d glasses and close one eye, does the same thing
So now you pay if you want 3D or if you DONT want 3D? I assume there are 2D versions of the movies aswell... Right? If not...
Why the fuck are people buying these when you can make the same thing for practically nothing.

Whining about headaches and shit when you're staring into a blaring, flickering screen for two hours in a pitch black room even without the 3D doesn't cut it.
How about simply preferring 2D over 3D?
The only movie I've seen in 3D was Jackass 3D. I regretted it, but not because the 3D effect bothered me...well I guess it was the 3D effect but only because of what was coming out of the screen at me.
What would happen if you wore both these and 3D glasses
Since one eye of the 3d ones allows for either Horizontal and Vertical light, and both eyes of the 2d ones allow for only horizontal or only vertical light, i'm guessing you'd see only when both glasses allow the same light i.e. you'd only see from one eye.
Headaches. Lots and lots of headaches.
I don't know anybody that has this problem. Especially people on here since after sitting in front of computer 24/7 you think they could handle a little extra eye strain during a movie
Since one eye of the 3d ones allows for either Horizontal and Vertical light, and both eyes of the 2d ones allow for only horizontal or only vertical light, i'm guessing you'd see only when both glasses allow the same light i.e. you'd only see from one eye.
But if you got a third pair of glasses that filtered light coming at a 45 degree angle and put it between the other two pairs, you'd see again!
Thank god the local cinemas here are cheap bastards and always have 2D and 3D. I have yet to see a 3D movie.
We havent even gotten 3D yet in my town :v:
But with many new movies, seeing them without 3D isn't really an option.
Bullshit. I work at a movie theater where it's 11 per ticket and 15 per 3d ticket. Everytime a new 3d movie comes out we know that people are hesitant to pay even for the basic 11$ ticket let alone the 15$ 3d one, so we play both movies at the same time in different theaters, one in 3d (which usually never garners more than about 45 people in a show), and the other in standard 2d (which gathers about 145 people in one show). tl;dr: If movie theaters want money, play new movies in both 3d and 2d. And don't try to tell me that a certain movie is 3d only because no such movie exists that isn't released in standard 2d and 3d.
3d is bullshit, not because it's a gimmick(although sometimes it is) but because like mysteryman said, they charge extra money for some cheap glasses that aren't worth the money AND THEN they want you to recycle them. Even if you bring your own glasses, you still have to pay extra
3d is bullshit, not because it's a gimmick(although sometimes it is) but because like mysteryman said, they charge extra money for some cheap glasses that aren't worth the money AND THEN they want you to recycle them.
