Fucking stupid to deny students who didn't throw their caps diplomas. That "your friends are denying you your diplomas" logic is complete bullshit. I hope this superintendent is fired under the sheer weight of parental complaints. [editline]30th May 2014[/editline]
So the natural thing to do then, of course, is deny everyone their diplomas...? Stop being so fucking retarded, you absurd assclown. [editline]30 May 2014[/editline] Thanks for stopping with that whole retardation thing.
lol good. Still hope the guy is fired. Someone stupid enough to make a decision like that should still not be a school superintendent.
Oh my, such disrespect to do what probably every graduate does...
What, did they have German WWI helmets?
Shocking image of the graduation ceremony.
They probably had some assholes in previous graduations who winged their hats as hard as they could into the crowd. I had some idiots like that in my high school class. Still, a douche move to deny them their diploma, they can fuck right off with that kind of power tripping bullshit.
The caption under the picture in the article is making my head spin
"Students cry foul after not receiving diplomas, but school officials say it's just punishment for not following orders."
Maybe this is because I went to a relaxed european school but jesus christ this isn't some military academy, it's school. This could of course just be a badly worded caption but to me this says a lot about american schools
During my graduation I only threw my cap 3 feet in the air because I was worried that I would lose it
There should be a law preventing this stuff from happen. Denying people to graduate as a disciplinary action is like really evil cause that made their last 4 years just be a waste. If I was there I would have gone completly fucking postal, good thing they reversed the decision.
I think you could probably make a legal case. You can't legally deny education, not even to the children of illegal immigrants. If you put the 4 years in, made the grade, and they try to deny you your diploma, especially over something like this, you absolutely have a winning legal case
And now the guy's blog is gone.
Here's hoping that fuckup gets fired. Unbelievable.
so the school superintendent was basically trying to be this guy?
No fuck that, I refuse to believe this is real.
Like it even matters. Useless piece of paper anyway.
Like it even matters. Useless piece of paper anyway.
Dunno what part of the states you live in, but where I live it's hard as fuck to get a good paying job/community college even, without a diploma.
I go to graduation every year, and every year they tell us not to cheer for friends and family, but people do every single time the person they know has their name called. So logically the smart thing to do is deny me my diploma in two years when I graduate because I clapped during graduation when you told me not to, right? That's the level of stupidity this is at.
My school has a policy that if you fail even one semester you're denied access to any senior events. I failed one class with a 59 percent and was denied access to my prom. It was meant to make students who skip have a reason not to, but I had never done anything like that. I was just struggling to understand a class, and the teacher even requested I had that grade changed. I really don't like these policies.
Someone stupid enough to make a decision like that should still not be a school superintendent.
Isn't it a globally accepted rule that school and district administration must be at least 80% asshole in order to carry the job?
