• 'Sleeping Beauty' teen sleeps for weeks at a time

I need ten hours of sleep per night, usually I sleep twelve but this is pretty ridiculous. If this can't be treated in the future she'll miss out on a quite large portion of her life. I suppose it would be pretty cool if you could sleep months at a time when you wanted to, but it being involuntary would be shit.

Wasn't this posted a long time ago? I remember there being another such case like this where the girl would sleep for days and days.
I know the most common cure for such a problem. One kiss from thy true love!
That sounds awful. Sure it may sound cool to go to sleep and wake up two months later, but imagine the fear of knowing so many events will have passed without you knowing of it.
Oh yeah don't wanna miss the release of Episode 3, night mom Good morning wo- Episode 4? GOD DAMNIT
Sleeping your life away must suck beyond belief. I'd hate to fall asleep, wake up with a tube down my throat, feeling incredibly weak and wondering what the date is. She most likely has no huge amount of knowledge from falling asleep so much and her muscle density must be fucked. :(
Neurology is such an amazing field, I wonder what the cause for this is. I wonder if they have any idea as to possible triggers.
Whenever I heard of neurological disorders, and they speculate over the cause, it's always a lack of some neurotransmitter.
There was a girl at my high school who had something like this. She kept falling asleep uncontrollably in lessons, eventually she left for home schooling. Yet her name remained on the register all the way to the end of high school.
You know when she's older, that her future boyfriends are gonna do dirty things while she's asleep for ages.
Can't see her having one with something like this.
She just need a PRINCE to kiss her, it will cure her.
Expected you guys seeing if she was fuckable stay classy facepunch
You know when she's older, that her future boyfriends are gonna do dirty things while she's asleep for ages.
"please clean up after you're done"
Can they treat this? Because sleeping for months at a time sounds horrific.

this is the second kleine levine syndrome case i've heard of in a year. it's fucking terrifying.
to me, sound like she's just.. being a teenager. :v:
Imagine all her health problems from not eating and drinking or even moving while sleeping: -Bedsores obviously -ulcers -kidney stones
Now if only I had this, sleep in till Half-life 3 comes out.
But then you'll wake up 500 years in the future and Half-Life 3: Episode 1 is still being made.
Do you count calories? If not, you probably aren't eating as much as you think.
No, but I do take in about 560 Calories a day in just what I drink, so surely I'm not that far off if you add in junk food too
They should just inject her with some adrenaline, that'll wake her up in no time
They should just inject her with some adrenaline, that'll wake her up in no time
...or kill her
I don't think it was the same thing but back when I was in school a classmate had something kind of similar, don't think it was a full coma though. I'd recently been suspended for hanging out in a friend's classroom so I was all, "well what the fuck is this bitch doing in our class and getting away with it but I get into shit?!" "Dude she's actually in our class she's just got some illness which is why she took most of the year off".
You're an idiot
Imagine all her health problems from not eating and drinking or even moving while sleeping: -Bedsores obviously -ulcers -kidney stones
She gets up to eat, drink, and use the restroom, but it is basically like she is sleep walking. The brain carries out necessary functions, but doesn't spin up the higher brain functions or long term memory.
Wait... Wouldn't you starve to death going months without food?
She gets up to eat, drink, and use the restroom, but it is basically like she is sleep walking.
I find it absolutely amazing that the brain can reserve these functions and only use them without using the higher brain functions or long term memory.
Take an ambien and fight it before it wins. The brain's amazing. I remember taking one about 8 years ago, and my brain just had enough and shut off after about 20 minutes, causing me to collapse 'asleep' between the couch and window in my living room, but I actually got up, went to my room, and played piano for 20 minutes before going to bed and don't remember anything after collapsing other than when I played the piano, songs I knew really well, I didn't hit a single right note. I played the same number of notes, with the correct tempo, but it was all the wrong notes and I couldn't figure out the right ones for the life of me Fuckin' brain
Clearly we need more pics.
Sleeps weeks a time, still maintains some body mass, whereas my diet consists of McDonalds and Whataburgers and I don't gain shit
Lift weights. And don't eat fast food, that shit's terrible for you. You don't need to eat McDonalds all the time to gain body mass.
