The system fails, again.
Oh come on. Can't a celebrity be tried as would a normal civilian just once? Just to prove that it's physically possible?

How does any of this directly affect your lives?
How does any of this directly affect your lives?
people are evading punishment for crimes because they are popular that effects my life significantly
I don't care if she is a celebrity, if I was the judge, I would say appeal fucking denied. I would send her to jail, or prison. She couldn't pay for a piece of jewelry, but can pay her bail money? But I am not surprised, celebs get off easy, hell if she did 10 felonies, she would be in jail or prison for a month, then they would feel sorry for her and let her off.
people are evading punishment for crimes because they are popular that effects my life significantly
That's not directly affecting your life. That's envy.
That's not directly affecting your life. That's envy.
I have no envy for celebrities who evade punishment but thanks for being presumptuous
Do you understand the word "directly"?
Do you understand the word "directly"?
do you understand that I was responding to your assertion that I am envious, not the former part of your post?
How does any of that affect your life? It was a simple question. Choosing to give a shit about what a celebrity does or does not do because it is in the news is not a direct consequence to your life.
How does any of that affect your life?
some people are punished and some are not, for completely arbitrary reasons. if that does not affect my life, I don't know what does
How does this specific event directly affect your life?
Oh sweet jesus, this will go on forever!
What a shock.
did you guys even read the article? she's out on bond until her appeal is finished. that means she could still be going back to jail to serve her sentence if the appeal is denied. you guys are acting like she's completely off the hook.
How does this specific event directly affect your life?
It doesn't have to, the problem is that the court system is corrupt as shit. If it were a civilian that did all the shit Lindsay did they'd be sitting in a cell long before they got halfway down the list.

Good for her. Let's hope she goes back there ASAP.
Believe me, she is.
no she's not
no she's not
*looks back at all the OTHER times she was let off the hook* yep, she is.
Everybody is created equal and has the same equal say and justice. Having money is the exception however.
In three weeks we'll be hearing that she's been convicted for something else, so you might as well make another thread now.
*looks back at all the OTHER times she was let off the hook* yep, she is.
uhh, read the news article please. she's still on probation and has to do 480 hours of community service.
uhh, read the news article please. she's still on probation and has to do 480 hours of community service.
Your point? She should have to do more than community service, and probation clearly doesn't matter to her seeing how she was ON probation when she did this one.
no she's not
Do you know how our courts in the U.S work for celebrities?
How does this specific event directly affect your life?
It doesn't. It's the fact that celebrities like her get the upperhand in court just for being a celebrity, if someone else were in that same spot they'd be given an even worse sentence.
Your point? [editline]23rd April 2011[/editline] I like how you say that as a matter of fact
Yes, I do. I'm not saying throw every single thief in a cell, I'm saying throw repeat offenders in. And I never said several months, I said she should serve time for it. 5 hours is hardly serving time.
to be fair, any amount of "serving time" is completely arbitrary
Next week she'll be back in. Obviously I'm not being literal but I just bet she wont last long.
