'Bloodborne' - Early reviews point towards being the PS4's 2015 savior

I loathed Dark Souls 2 and I'm hoping this will wash the bad taste of 2014 out of my mouth.
lol I forgot how super srs games/exclusives are around here. I'll see myself out
actually this game is a lot like league of legends get it right nerd
Still doesn't justify owning a PS4 unless you're convinced that another Souls game is worth $460. The only current gen consoles worth owning are Wii U/3DS. PS4/XBone still have extremely limited libraries, especially if you already have a gaming PC.

here's a stitched together gameplay vid from that "choose your path" esque trailer

God I wish I had a PS4 right now.

Bloodborne confirmed for Fallout.
gonna keep myself totally in the dark on this one.
i'll get a PS4 at some point (probably if Silent Hills stays an exclusive) but i want to be blind to this one when it's out. i went into Dark Souls 1 that same way, and it was one of the best experiences i've had with a game.

i really hate to support stuff like this but im gonna buy a ps4 just for this game
i need a souls fix after the somewhat disappointing dark souls 2
I wish we got a real Collector's edition here, I mean, it costs $30+ more here and comes with a soundtrack that doesn't even include all the songs... and that's it.

I feel silly for buying that collectors edition, but I'll be happy with the metal case; the nightmare edition the EU gets is nice as fuck
Is there any chance that this will come to pc in the future like dark souls?
If you care about From Software dungeon crawlers, you'll get a Playstation. Sony and From go back about twenty years. I'm quite certain that this won't be the only From exclusive this generation.

Zero, unless you mean emulation just like Demon's Souls coming to PC (which it will in 3-5 years but that'll make it ten years old).

I just ended up importing the nightmare edition from Poland. Set me back $200 but I'll be able to sell the Polish version of the game for $100 and keep the nightmare stuff.

no cause sony is funding it
As long as it's as good as Demons Souls and Dark Souls 1 it should be one of the best games of the year if not THE best.
I still feel completely burned from how low standards Dark Souls 2 was though so I am still not fully convinced until I play at least like 4 hours of Bloodbourne that it's going to reach Dark Souls 1 level of quality.
I'm excited and I will likely never even own a PS4
FROM, you really outdid yourselves
frankly i would have been surprised if they actually managed to fuck it.
the souls serie's gameplay is a proven winning formula, you have to purposely screw things up for one to actually make it bad

PVP is based on soul level and the environments are designed like Dark Souls 1 areas. There's no way they could mess those things up because honestly those were the main issues behind DaS2s hate.

Ontopic I'm so damn ready for this. I've actually been needing something new to play on my PS4. I haven't been particularly fond of the PS+ free games and the only other two I have are The Evil Within and CoD:AW
This and Yakuza 0 are the kind of exclusives the PS4 needs not interactive movies like The Order 1886.
I found the souls games really average, hopefully they've fixed some of the design issues with this one.
I just really hope the wait is worth it for Bloodborne. Still being cautiously optimistic as fuck after the later half of 2014.
I mean, Dark Souls 2 wasn't bad... it was missing what made me consistently come back to Dark Souls 1 though.

I see bloodborne as to be a mix of demon souls and dark souls 1 gameplay; but teetering more on the demon souls side this time around
Also I've gotta say the DLC for dark souls 2 is actually pretty damn good, it almost made up for what the base game lacked in my opinion. Definitely worth playing.
Also just found this little note about inter connected areas in bloodborne; very nice to hear

“Another thing, going into the environments, they’re gothic, Victorian architecture and they’re very intricate, a beautiful but also frightening world and that’s something that wouldn’t have been possible in the previous generation. All of these areas are directly connected to each other”

Meanwhile, Demon's Souls vets finally get something challenging to play again. :v:
I really thought Dark Souls was easier than Demon's.
People always say their second souls game is easier
Its because you knew how to play it better
Everyone who has played dark souls first then went to play demon souls usually says the same thing "Oh dark souls was way harder"

I loved DS2
shame about the level design though
IMO the level design in DS2 was just as good, if not better than DS1
The world design was not. I.E. the levels just seemed to totally randomly run into each other in a linear way that made little sense, while in DS1 they all intertwined and made locational sense to each other

Also I don't get all the hate behind dark souls 2
Its a better game in many aspects, slightly worse (but not bad) in others, the perfect sequel. I can't take anyone seriously who says its bad because it means they ignored everything good about the game just because it wasn't the eye opening world-changing experience they expected after Dark Souls 1
I still think DS1 was objectively better just because it was more tightly designed in certain areas where it counted the most (memorable boss fights, world design) but while DS2 is weaker on those areas its still does a good job at it, and IMO is better in terms of what kinds of things they added or changed for combat/armor/weapons/gameplay/etc.
It sucks not having a PS4, but on the other hand, it'd suck more to pay $400 just for this game. Looks really nice though.

Honestly I felt like the general weight of the character and rolling didn't felt as tight to control in DS2 compared to 1; but the gameplay/combat is definitely upgraded and fun in DS2.
It looks a bit like dark souls is this from the same company?
