Police Shoot, Kill 80-Year-Old Man In His Own Bed, Don't Find the Drugs They Were Looking For

IMO its pretty fucking stupid to have done the raid without announcing themselves, especially if they thought that they were raiding a meth lab (People in meth labs tend to be armed)
Thats just setting up a terrible situation where people are likely to get shot, if a bunch of people entered your house in the middle of the night (Not even announcing that they were officers) in the complete darkness, 99% of people are going to assume that their house is being broken into.
Although I'm a bit skeptical that the old guy even had the gun in his hands at the time.

We just recently had the same thing happen in Oregon, but with an Iraq War vet.
Jesus, that cop couldn't have been much older than me. The way he screamed was horrifying.
"After being captured, Brannan was asked why he killed Dinkheller. His response was, 'Because he let me.'"

you don't announce if you believe them to be armed
that just says "hi it's the cops barricade yourselves in"
SWAT first, asscovering later...
fucking crazy

older suspects though can be unpredictable, espeacially if they have any sort of mental condition.
Our same government that shoots and kills old men in their beds for possibly having drugs has also personally funded and supplied drug cartels in Mexico.
I need to stop fucking hanging out in SH, this world pisses me off too much.
I think that lying about what happened in your police report should be a felony.

Oh, god I didn't expect him to die in the video, I thought maybe he'd be injured and had died in hospital or something.
Fuck, that's rough.

And it's because of nutters like this that cops get so trigger happy. When someone starts acting fucking erratic like that you don't want to come out the loser in whatever scuffle may ensue.

From Wikipedia:
At this point, Brannan ran from his pickup truck toward the deputy and began to fire, hitting Dinkheller in exposed areas such as the arms and legs. Brannan then began to reload his weapon as the now injured Dinkheller tried to position himself near the driver side door of his cruiser. Another shot from Dinkheller was heard. Brannan began advance firing at the deputy, hitting him numerous times. Before being disabled from gunfire, Dinkheller was able to inflict a gunshot wound to the stomach of Brannan. After being struck and clutching his stomach, Brannan then raised his M1 carbine and fired two more shots with one striking Dinkheller in the head, killing him. Brannan then retreated into his pickup and fled the scene.
It's pretty fucking mental how far this guy went.

I had a read through earlier and was absolutely bewildered by it. What goes through someone's head when they do shit like this? Surely people at this point know that police dashcams record everything, that their number plate has been in plain view (and probably read out by the officer) for some time, that they themselves have been caught on camera, etc, etc. How in the hell does shooting someone dead make your situation better than just apologising for breaking the speed limit and paying a fine?
People are fucked.
We all need police, but when they do shit like this, it makes them look like fucking assholes.
There's no reason why you need to kill some scared and confused 80 year old man in his bed when you have machine guns, body armor, and back up.

Logical thinking rarely accompanies murder.

These were the only four comments, god bless Youtube. Also the way he screamed was fucking chilling.

It's because either A: they don't know about everything which you've said, in which case it's an education problem, or B: they're fucking crazy.
After reading about the story behind that car shooting, I'd bet money on B.

He probably had some pretty fucked up PTSD considering he was a combat veteran.
God, that video of the cop being shot to death sent fucking chills down my spine. I don't know, in my opinion he should have shot, or at least try his luck with the taser (if he had one) earlier, instead of waiting for him to grab his weapon and take cover.
Poor fellas, both the man from the OP because that cop didn't give him an opportunity to surrender, and the cop from the video because he gave that guy too many.
What makes me wonder is why Dirkheller had no partner? I thought it was obligatory to go in pairs?
