the more i think about the more i'm pretty sure this issue effects like 5 people at most
the more i think about the more i'm pretty sure this issue effects like 5 people at most
Seeing as every Apple user is rich enough to waste money on always buying the latest Apple stuff then yeah.
itunes is shit compared to beatport anyway

right but the fact that most dx10 features also work on xp yet is locked out from it means nothing i guess i don't know
DX9 and OpenGL can "close enough" a lot of the new features in DX10 but the libraries themselves don't run on XP worth a shit because of the huge changes I really doubt there is some massive hardware or software conflict between iTunes 10 and older version of OSX
Well that sucks. I still use iTunes as I find it convinient and easy, why bother getting something else when I don't really use it much anyway. I doubt newer updates will have anything i need though
I really doubt there is some massive hardware or software conflict between iTunes 10 and older version of OSX
well actually there are some huge changes in the libraries between 10.4 and 10.5 not a good excuse i know, but the OS update i don't think is such a big deal because it is macintosh and that's always been the deal
also whats a costumer
You don't have to buy a new computer as long as you have an Intel Mac. Just buy the updated OS, jeez people. [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] Oh right, 10.5 works on PPC too. [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] OpenGL 4 works on Windows XP which uses the same technology as DirectX 11. DX11 could easily work on Windows XP but Microsoft is grasping at straws to get people to update.
Um no. Microsoft is phasing out Windows XP because its 10 years old, why dont you complain that Adobe dont support IE 6 in flash 10 ? On all fronts XP needs to die, and its not to make money... plainly because its outdated technically, eg no TRIM support for SSD drives. Insecure, people have had 10 years to perfect exploits etc. And lastly.. its 10 fucking years old!
So this means that if I get a newer iPod, the only mac I own that can still sync with it would be my dual 2.5ghz G5. Shit. I liked using my Pismo too.
well actually there are some huge changes in the libraries between 10.4 and 10.5
yeah, they use twice the RAM and run twice as slow
Maybe you shouldn't have bought a Mac then.
Wait you have to pay for OSX? Man have I been misinformed.
DX10 is, as far as I know, reliant on certain Hardware and Software requirements. DX10 is also free. Itunes 10 is a service which sells you music and videos, and therefore should be more catered towards making it easier for potential customers to access it. DX10 is also not placed onto all Microsoft products making you utterly dependent on it.
DX10 was the biggest hardware scam in the history of consumer computing.
DX10 was the biggest hardware scam in the history of consumer computing.
That's a big claim; how so?
Windows wins again!
The same people who think XP needs to die in a fire due to being old are against Apple forcing people to upgrade? Err...
yeh man xp sucks
The same people who think XP needs to die in a fire due to being old are against Apple forcing people to upgrade? Err...
XP is 11 years old. OSX 10.5 is a little over 3 years old. That's a bit of difference.
ahem, DX10
Excuse me for jumping on this so late. But this argument is redundant because you can't really compare graphical fluff to a whole service that works together with other external products you've bought.
yeh man xp sucks
yeah man xp is pure shit man
Wait, the same version of iTunes that runs on XP/Vista/7? 10.2.2? That's hilarious.
And lastly.. its 10 fucking years old!
So's my car.
and its not to make money
When Microsoft's operating system income is slipping and XP is still the most common operating system out there, saying making money isn't a major if not the primary concern for them is asinine.
wow this sucks for all the people who wear costumes
Anyone trying to support apple on this is actually retarded - especially with the "lol windows XP" argument. XP physically can't run DX11 without extensive changes. Now why should microsoft support a 10 year old outdated, buggy and shit OS when people should have upgraded two years ago to Windows 7. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] Apple however, would have to distribute one or two libs to the older OSes for iTunes 10 to work. They don't have to change any core code at all. This is just a money-making ploy.

point and laugh kids, point and laugh
Excuse me for jumping on this so late. But this argument is redundant because you can't really compare graphical fluff to a whole service that works together with other external products you've bought.
You can, when you're made to believe that DX10 features substantial changes in graphics that DX9 can't do (which is an outright lie) and spend 1000 - 2500 bucks on a copy of vista and "specially crafted" hardware for DX10 when the only real change from DX9 to DX10 is 2 characters in it's name. And when DX9 Crysis runs far far better and looks just as nice as DX10 Crysis, courtesy of windows vista (which is required because XP can't do DX10 because <<insert corporate lie here>>.)
If you're still running 10.4, it's about time for a new computer.
As much as I dislike them, they are geniuses at marketing.
HAHAHAHAHA and people penalise Microsoft for the latest versions of Windows Media Player and Windows Live not working officially on XP which is 10 years old. I don't buy any Apple products but admit that they are fucking kings of marketing to stupid people (the majority). Their staff are generally pretty friendly too from what I've experienced which is all part of giving them a good public image so that people commit to them.
Because there were so many games that were entirely dependent on you having DX10 during the time of Vista. Also DX10 being software for rendering while iTunes is an online market place makes no difference at all. Most does not mean =
Why lock the whole thing and not at least the most work? Oh wait, they want to sell their shit. Of course, this what Apple does is wrong, but Microsoft was doing it since forever. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] But these two still aren't even the worst. Try to get IOS update for a Cisco router.
