Getting to work doesn't strike me as a genuine need
Yeah not like you need money to live or anything.
Watch as I get banned for this post, also fyi its Tony Kornheiser from pti
Yep, that's the one. And wow, it's reached image macro status already? Damn.
This would be a great wakeup call for everyone to at least try public transport... HOWEVER, that now too, costs a bomb, I feel like our country is sometimes just an internal retardation
Problem with this is that the majority of public transit relies on these fuel trucks as well. Taxis and buses will grind to a halt alongside private motorists. The only services that will continue to run are the electric trains, and they don't serve everywhere.
Getting to work doesn't strike me as a genuine need
So I suppose we can just teleport to work? Use a biodiesel powered jetpack?
So I suppose we can just teleport to work? Use a biodiesel powered jetpack?
No, lets bike 80/160 miles a day
Getting to work doesn't strike me as a genuine need
Some people don't live with mommy and need to work to make a living.
Shit that's nothing. Shoulda seen America right after 9/11
I actually remember that, the afternoon of the 11th every gas station in town was packed because everyone thought civilization was going to end the next day or something. \ The surest reason to panic is when government people go on TV and say "Don't panic."
When people say "don't panic", doesn't that usually have an opposite effect?
Well the garages near me have put their prices up and people are still queuing for petrol, even though the government has now withdrawn their statement about storing petrol and are now telling people they only need to fill up if they only have half a tank left
Yep, that's the one. And wow, it's reached image macro status already? Damn.
Any image with large text is what the forum rules say, kind of stupid imo.
Its mad how if it wasn't for huge oil corps and the wars in the middle east petrol / diesel cars would possibly be obsolete.
Its mad how if it wasn't for huge oil corps and the wars in the middle east cars would possibly be obsolete.
Uhh, what?
Uhh, what?
Fuck sorry i meant petrol / diesel cars, editing now.
Half the people driving at the moment dont really need to drive, there is nothing wrong with putting the car and getting to work on a bicycle for example.
Yea until that flimsy two wheeled vehicle falls over and your left with a broken bone. Just trying to even learn how to ride a bike for those who don't know how can result in injuries that will put them out of work even with safety gear.
I work at Asda and we had a queue going out of our car park into a roundabout which blocked customers from getting into the store to do shopping, so it was a very quite day, in the store.
Is anyone here old enough to remember the week long strike in 2000? I was only 9 but I remember queuing for miles because of panic buying This was 2000:
Why are all the cars the same?
by law they have to give a 7 day notice before a strike occurs, and they haven't even had their meeting about it yet, its on Monday. its at least 10 days before any fuel strike will happen
Can't remember who it was, but there was an mp on the news yesterday essentially saying "don't panic buy, contingency buy!"
Shit that's nothing. Shoulda seen America right after 9/11
we had multi-mile long lines once the gas stations were running again after Katrina. Everyone's generators had run out by then and most of the people were so concerned about conserving fuel that they pushed their cars through the line (it was really stop and go otherwise, you'd have emptied a whole tank just waiting)
If a child can do it without hurting themselves then so can an adult.
I broke my arm as a kid learning how to ^_^
I broke my arm as a kid learning how to ^_^
That smilely clearly indcates why you broke your arm, and millions of other people don't.

We lived in a small ass country town, about 1800 people, and we had cars stretching a mile outta town trying to fuel up at our little 4 pump station.
They confirmed they won't strike over easter
Dumb article. He says not to panic buy, yet says to top up on your car and fill up canisters for your garage? How else can you panic buy more than that?

Would someone just give Cameron some concrete boots and let him have a swim in Thames for crying out loud?
Would someone just give Cameron some concrete boots and let him have a swim in Thames for crying out loud?
Sadly, there is no decent candidate to replace him. That's how bad it is, folks.
