Finally. I work at a convenience store and everyone and their grandchildren were buying lottery tickets last night. It was a bloody nightmare, I was ready to throw the lotto machine into a fire by the end of the night.
My parents bought a few tickets. We live in Maryland, in Baltimore County too. They didn't check their tickets yet either. I will go to sleep imagining they did win.
An update. They did win. $10. :(
Is that before taxes?
After taxes it's going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 million.
An update. They did win. $10. :(
Strangely, despite the changes of winning anything being 1/40 (so says the site, IIRC), both of my friends that bought 2 tickets each won $3. We're in the money, we're in the money...
Exactly. I've figured I can live more than comfortably for the rest of my life on just 10 million.
When I last counted, 3M € was enough for me. 30k a year for a hundred years, so I could add a few thousand to that since I'm not likely to live over 100 anyway.
I think I might give 50% of it away, maybe.... I feel sorry for this guy though
That is just beyond sad.
I had a family member get 4 numbers right and had a 22 instead of 23. so close. But you could try and collect annomously and not tell anyone you won the jackpot. Unless you live in states where you have to collect in person only.
My friend posted this picture on facebook this morning... He lives in Maryland.
Wow I can't even imagine how much my life would change with that kind of money.
If I would've won I might have given a million or two to my mother, father and sister. Then I would've built a grand fucking mansion and security system so tight that no even a fly could get inside alive. Then I would buy myself a fuckton of guns and shit and make a shooting range to my back yard. Then I would buy myself a whole shitload of electronic appliances so that my energy consumption would be bigger than in a nuclear plant. Then I would buy myself a top notch computer every single year and use only the most recent and best parts. Then I would buy myself a few cool motorcylces and maybe a car. After I've gotten myself all the things that I've ever wanted, I would just put the money on my bank account and leave it there to wait for my future generations. And that would be something like ~550 million.

I live in Reisterstown, which is Baltimore county...fucking sad...and annoying as hell that I didn't get it.
I can't imagine how happy you would be if you were like 20-25 years old and that you just don't have to worry about money anymore Oh man..
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bal-640m-mega-millions-jackpot-hit-in-maryland-20120330,0,6284252.story Don't get too happy faze, it ain't you.
Technically could have been me if I didn't say on the other thread that I didn't win. I live in Baltimore county.
Yeah, I would try my hardest not to do something like that.
Well you will fail, that's for sure. With money like that burning a hole in your soul, you don't just sit in an apartment and live life as normal.

In which case, bravo.

Probably an office prank. [editline]31st March 2012[/editline] My guess is he probably shopped the the check in and posted the photo to his office to play a prank on his friends. Trust me it is working the comments are hilarious.
He lives over in Ridgely.
That's in Perry Hall right? I remember a Ridgely neighborhood when I lived in Perry Hall a few years ago.
Perry Hall is quite a ways away from Ridgely.
Perry Hall is quite a ways away from Ridgely.
The only other Ridgely I know of is on the Eastern shore.
I think I might give 50% of it away, maybe.... I feel sorry for this guy though
I'm not even fucking kidding I had this happen to me once down here in Florida when the jackpot was like 140 million. I punched a fucking hole in my wall I was so pissed off.
Is that before taxes?
No, you pay taxes after. Depends on how you take it though, entire sum of cash or though yearly deposits.
snip
If you take the yearly payments you're retarded. You still get taxed the same as lump sum the only difference is you don't have all of the money. In Florida, tax on lottery winnings is 25%. Fucking shitlords.
