ya monsanto's practices are shady and they are trying to set dickian presidents on what can be patented but aside from claiming they can own DNA, they put thousands of hours, and millions of dollars into developing and testing their products, and the rules for GMO testing are very strict
A lot of people generally attack Monsanto for often exaggerated reasons.
The reality is that Monsanto is a wealthy company that engages in activities intended to gain a stronger position in their respective markets and by extension will engage in morally questionable ways to make money and quash competition. To this end they make it more difficult for competitors to make new strains in order to retain a monopoly. (Luckily the Chinese are ending that soon enough).
When people complain about farmers not being allowed to plant the seeds, they forget really basic things such as farmers buying seeds as having been standard practice in modern agriculture for decades and that very often these attacks on Monsanto mostly tie in with the general hatred of any large businesses, regardless of what they have done.
you sure treat them like it.

"accept gmo or everyone is gonna starve there is no other choice"
Your argument as a whole is driven by an anarchist agenda veiled as a plea for safety. Of course you have no idea of this because you're just mimicing every other greenpeace twat you've heard. Please, do some actual unbiased research and come back when you've formed an original opinion.
Please point out then, one downside to GMO. Besides, "its not natural" cause humans by their very nature live very unnaturally.
I'll point out some benefits.
They grow faster.
Easier to manage.
Higher yields.
Open your eyes, companies like monsanto are bending the third world over and fucking them in the ass. The idea of a patent on a life form is ridiculous and makes no sense. Life evolves, by its very definition. What happens when a farmer accidentally gets ahold of a GMO seed and incorporates the DNA slowly into his crops over time? Monsanto (which practically owns the FDA) can claim copyright infringement. And the farmer is out of business like that. Not to mention the fact that GMOs mean that it's pretty much impossible for any third world farmer to make a living without using GMOs, which means they have to buy the proprietary seed, which means monsanto now owns their crop for the rest of their career and can fix the price however they want.
Don't buy into the "we just really want to help feed the world" argument spewed out by companies like monsanto. they fully intend to exploit the shit out of anyone that they can

He wasn't saying anything about the companies, he was talking about the product itself. You are the one blinded by hate, not him.
I don't see very many conservative opinions here.
GMO's are one of the most promising technologies out there, but I have problems trusting Monsanto with it.
With Monsanto's patented genes being inserted into roughly 95 percent of all soybeans and 80 percent of all corn grown in the U.S., the company also is using its wide reach to control the ability of new biotech firms to get wide distribution for their products
As shown earlier, there has been a lot of Monsanto employees in government positions, more than I feel comfortable with, and while I don't doubt Monsanto has stuck to current regulations, it's how strict the regulations are is I'm thinking about.
