Like people said, they went for the first similar trademark, Sony Apparently appealed, and now the term Let's Play is in the public Domain.
reddit being dumb as always, but I'm glad its in public domain now.

Good. Why would they get it? It is a term with common usage and has no relation to Sony.
To be honest i find this as dumb as the time the company that made Candy Crush tried to trademark the work "Candy".

It was both Candy and Saga. The former failed or they evertually dropped it, but the latter went through and a big followup and backlash when they tried to take down The Banner Saga iirc.
