I don't favor it... I'm fine with possibly some new designs for the dollar bills or possibly the use of coin for dollars, but I would never ever like to see money look like a bunch of shitty movie tickets.
look all at them colours
20$ bill looks like shit and so does 1$ bill
These look really snazzy.
And it doesn't matter what you say.
Colour coded bills are better in every conceivable way.
Deal with it
I notice a lot of people complaining about not changing just because of how it looks, we don't need it etc. etc.
The whole reason behind the push for changing the currency is to prevent counterfeiting.

^Those changes didn't happen just because the Treasury thought it looked pretty.
Personally I'm fine with our currency as is, but a change might be nice, I like the idea of different color bills.
Why don't you guys put current presidents on coins and have a whole bunch of different styles of the same coin? That way every president could get his face on a coin and nobody would bitch.
Here in Canada we change the quarters for the olympics and all sorts of other stupid reasons. There were breast cancer awareness ones for a while that had the pink ribbon on them. (Yes, they had pink right in the coin)
Andrew Jackson was hardcore.
When someone tried to assassinate him, he smacked him to the floor and starting beating the fuck out of him.
Yeah man he was so hardcore he didn't take no shit from indians when they gave him guff he made them walk a trail made out of tears what a badass
[editline]12:23AM[/editline]
He's pretty close to the bottom of the list of good presidents
The Queen gets a makeover every 2 years or so on the quarter.
Then what color will I associate money with? Purple? Fuck that, green is best.
The designs are good already. No need to fucking change them.
what if something costs 99 cents (which happens so much) and you give them a dollar
WHAT DO THEY GIVE YOU BACK HUH
I think what would happen is that everything would cost like $9.90 or $9.95 or something, with sales tax rounded to the nearest 5 cents
I hear that it's happening in Canada, but don't quote me on that
Then what color will I associate money with? Purple? Fuck that, green is best.
"JUST LOOK AT ALL THAT PINK AND PURPLE."
"Man, our money sure is gay."
Then what color will I associate money with? Purple? Fuck that, green is best.
Black money with white print would be fucking awesome and it's the only acceptable option for money that's all one design.
OR black money with phosphorescent print in different colours to distinguish denomination.
:krad2:

The bills of the future?
That looks pretenious as FUCK
I can't wait until Helvetica (the typeface) gets out of style in design, and all of it's little copycat typefaces too. Because most of the time it is used in the wrong context. Which makes it look incredibly amateur, tacky and out of place (like the above).
Also minimalist currency design is stupid as fuck and no practical at all, because then it can easily be counterfitted.
The problem is that if they do this, every single machine that takes bills will need to be replaced/reprogrammed to read these new bills and then everybody will have to go exchange their bills and yada yada yada and it's a big fucking mess for nothing other than cosmetical value.
A Vending Machine Scans Paper Money
<li id="jsArticleStep1"> Paper money printed in the United States contains, in addition to a plethora of visible security features, some very elaborate methods to assist in automated denomination recognition. The primary method vending machines use to recognize the denomination of paper money is through a magnetic scan; paper currency is printed with magnetic ink, similar to the ink on the MICR line of a check, that makes it easily identifiable to machines with magnetic scanners. In addition, each denomination is marked with different fluorescent properties. No, they wouldn't. All they'd have to do is simply put the fluorescent line where it is now and noone would know. Also, they'd probably just start phasing bills out not just make the current version completely invalid. That'd be completely retarded.

Stupid designs. They all look like every other fucking currency in the world.
At big numbers that 3 cents means a lot
Doesn't matter, it's not like it's 50 cents, or double the value. We're almost on par.

I like the way this one looks best.

But I like the vertical design on this.
Our green hue is kind of distinctive and iconic, at least in my mind. It would be a shame to change it, really. Not to mention the logistics of updated bill-reading machines and having old bills exchanged... Ugh.

this is the best kind of money
Why do we really need president's faces on our money? I mean sure, they were great and did things for our countries, but that's why we have memorials and museums. We should just slap the numbers on the bill to represent it's value.

That doesn't sound boring or anything

:colbert:
I say we put Thomas Jefferson on all the bills and coins but with slightly different facial expressions and poses.
Every other president was a dumbass. Jackson was cool though.
When I visited America the notes looked cool and all, but they all seemed really dirty and worn. I think you should keep the designs similar but make them out of a stronger material, like the plastic stuff we use in New Zealand and Australia, it works well. Other than that I don't think the notes need redesigning, although we did end up with loads of coins we couldn't use coming back.
Old Spice guy should be on the US$1 coin/bill.
Yeah I don't agree on the one dollar bill obama should not be on it. That's just my opinion though.
Hey guys even though were having lots of economic and environmental problems, let's fucking ignore all of that and do something pointless and big like redesigning the dollar bill. It's a complete waste of resources and time to redesign American money. All machines that have anything to do with money would have to be reprogrammed or rebuilt and we would have to have someway to turn in the old dollar bills in exchange for the new ones.
Absolutely ridiculous.
In 1905, the $20 dollar bill had George Washington on it.

They should bring this back silently, that would screw up stuff.
