Not disarming, selling of surplus. We got better anti-misslie systems now, anyways.
Nope. The PAC-3 Patriot is still the US Army's primary short range ABM system with upgrades planned for the near future.
Not too familiar with these missiles, how are their offensive capabilities compared to similar missiles?
Wow. 2 million for a simple missile?!
Why are they so expensive? As far as I know, they are a thing that propels itself with fuel and explode when it hits something. That doesn't seem so expensive.
That's a rocket.
Guidance systems are fucking expensive, you know. And this is after they made them as cheap as possible.

Really? I thought they already replaced them? Or am I confusing it with a different anti missile system?

Military hardware doesn't get replaced that fast. Maybe you're confusing it with the various SDI programs that were canceled with the end of the Cold War.
Yes.
Patriot missiles are outdated, but proven. They are anti ICBM and anti MRBM, they have a 33% chance of hitting the target, which, despite the age of the system, is one of the best hit rates in the world.
The newer PAC-3 upgrade is designed solely for ABM. Although, the article doesn't seem to mention whether it's PAC-3 or one of the older ones they're getting rid of surplus stock of.
Come on boost our economy

Actually, I have to correct you here, the PAC-3 is designed to shoot down standard tactical and theater ballistic missiles from a short range, which MRBMs are a part of. It's not designed to go against ICBMs - that's the task of SM-3. The Patriot's proven in battle against "old" ballistic missiles like the ones used by Iraq before 2003, but we won't know how the new PAC-3's going to perform until the real launches start.

Damn, I really screwed up here, didn't I?
I guess I need to read up more on military tech.

But thank you on letting me know of these errors.
I lived in Kuwait nearly all my damned (and short) life, and boy I can tell you, that country is America's bitch
