Why settle for good enough, when you can still use Windows XP?

Don't know why you disagreed him July, it's clean.
Maybe I'm taking this too seriously but it would be more helpful if you'd post what's wrong with it instead of just giving ratings :v:
I can't even tell if it was able to send anything out on my end. No traces in registry but I found the same temp files with one intact log. Either way, spent all of yesterday changing passwords and beefing up security... thanks asshole.

Nothing wrong with it, just gave a disagree because of the domain. It's just a rating, don't take it as important.

That's GranPC's website. You can check his FP title for it.

What major issues?

Look, I've just reached a point where i see it as messing with the developers creative intentions. If i ever developed a game and tweaked it and such until i think it's perfect, i wouldn't want people messing with it, because it's my creative vision. Same goes for community-created content, I just see it as messing with the developer's artstyle/creative intentions. I'm like a weird form of creative purist.

You're the scum who's the ruiner of fun then.
And you also made me want to photoshop pictures of famous & valuable artwork, so good job.

Your creative vision or not but if the system can be improved, that's go ahead then.
what if your vision is shit and is to make as much money from micro-transactions as possible, to the point where it affects the fun factor?
What game are we talking about here? In that case mod away or don't play the game, whoever made it that way deserves to have their vision shit on.

Modding counts as shitting on dev's vision? I hope you don't become a game dev

So all you see is shit? good to know.

"Creative vision" is an excuse used by hacks who refuse to acknowledge that their work can be improved upon. A proper artist embraces criticism, and learns from alternate approaches.
Stop modding games that are good enough on their own, geez...
Imagine being this retarded?
A proper artist embraces criticism, and learns from alternate approaches.
Yes, but he sure as hell shouldn't let others do the work for him.

I fully intend to and i also intend for my games to only have rudimentary modding support, like CS:S modding, only clientside custom textures and sprays, and no steam workshop support. It's my creative vision, no one else's.

When can we expect to find out which hours of the day we'll be allowed to experience your artistic vision after we pay for it? Night and day have different moods and I wouldn't want to sully your vision.

Pay for it? I don't intend to charge for any games i make...
God damn can't you guys comprehend that i would not like to have my game fucked with by third parties without you thinking I'm pretentious?

No.

When you give something to someone else you don't reserve any say over what they can do with it.

When you release a video game I'm gonna get and make tons of mods given the slight chance you aren't trolling right now. I'll also be sure to inform everyone on your kickstarters/greenlights of how much of a baby you're acting like just because people like to mod their own games for fun.

The hell are you smoking? You cannot "truly" mod a multiplayer game because you will get VAC banned, you will only be able to make reskins. Plus i hope to publish anonymously.

That IS being pretentious in itself.

Nice try but licensing agreements say otherwise.

They seem to hold quite damn well when it comes to DMCA and cease and desist though.

Depends on the license agreement, EULA's are null-and-void and there's also a sort of 'fair use' law regarding modding software and hardware for non-malicious and non-personal gains in the EU.

And what if I don't care what a licensing agreement says?
No matter whether it's legal or not, according to my moral values, you have no say in me modifying what I have.

Are you seriously putting your morals before the law? (though it doesn't really apply here)
Are you seriously putting your morals before the law? (though it doesn't really apply here)
There's very little legal risk in modding games, so why shouldn't I?
In any case, "the law says so" is a really poor argument for the position that "modding games against the will of the creator is wrong". Which is what we're talking about. It doesn't matter whether it happens to be legal.
