• Boston Zoo may close, also talking about Euthanizing hundreds of animals

While I'm sure lethal injection is a humane way of killing the animals, it's sad that not much effort is being put in to prevent the animals from being put down.
Sell the animals to other zoos and wildlife preserves?
Bawwwww, some animals are going to die. :geno:
Great Idea! Lets release tigers, lions and elephants in the U.S. wild
Yeah. Spicen up those ecological relationships a bit. :cawg:
Well, depends on what type animals they are. If they happen to be the Jonas Brothers, I'll pay them to do it.
Shut the fuck up about the fucking Jonas Brothers, it's completely not relevant to the the fucking thread.
If only I were an eccentric millionaire.
I started to cry when I heard about this. Why in the fuck would you kill all these animals? I understand with this economy being shitty, but really, when our animals are endangered and wanting to do this is sick. Unless this is a tactic for them to get people to fund raise and save these animals, but still, its horrible. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,531650,00.html
We are going to have to shut down the park sir *sigh*, all right, grab a club and a gun and meet me out back in 10 minutes
Maybe if we send enough letters to Bill Gates about this he might open up another zoo for the animals.
Does it bother anyone else that they said they would 'destroy' the animals? Not KILL them or anything. Just destroy.
Not really since killing just implies that they'll leave the body there while destroy implies that they're going to remove it.
now why doesn't peta do anything about this oh wait they're busy bitching about obama killing a fly
PETA would never get angry over something that is actually a problem, they'd rather busy themselves with unimportant bullshit like Obama squashing a fly. I mean honestly there's a lot of animal cruelty in the world, but PETA seems to focus on things that pale in comparison.
This makes me fucking mad. What a waste of life.
Poor owls
This makes me fucking mad. What a waste of life.
Why does this make you mad. What is there to be mad about.
That... that's horrible! Why the hell would they kill such a amount of life?
Why the fuck are you all whining about this? Don't you eat meat? It's the same thing. [editline]03:49PM[/editline]
Does it bother anyone else that they said they would 'destroy' the animals? Not KILL them or anything. Just destroy.
destroying sounds cooler, so not really.
That... that's horrible! Why the hell would they kill such a amount of life?
Because they can't afford to feed and house them, they can't afford to send them to other zoos, they can't afford to send them back to where they came from (and since they were raised in captivity, they'd probably die anyway), they're not allowed to release them locally and they're not allowed to just sell them to any person who strolls by. It's very simple.
Geese are annoying as hell when they start squawking.
Au contraire, that sound is music to my ears! I have had a group of geese gather around me honking and whatnot, and it was quite a fun experience.
Geese are tasty, a bit gamy but damn good eatin.
The problem is they're just so greasy! Not as bad as duck, but a lot of fat.
I'm pretty sure the cost to euthanize so many animals would be pretty up there as well. That shit isn't cheap.
you're really weird splurgy...

they cant release them into the wild either, I dont think they would survive... because shits been handed to them. But then again, animal instincts.
It would probably be pretty damn expensive to ship them to the wild as well, seeing as those animals come from all different corners of the earth. :| Plus, they would die for lack of the know-how to live with their own species. No question. Some animals are able to adapt, but most aren't.
For a human, you have a disgusting amount of apathy when it comes to the fate of other living beings.
Unless you've never eaten meat you're such a hypocrite tbh.
I'm pretty sure the cost to euthanize so many animals would be pretty up there as well. That shit isn't cheap.
True, but it's probably noticeably cheaper in comparison, and it's a flat, one time payment. [editline]05:48PM[/editline]
For a human, you have a disgusting amount of apathy when it comes to the fate of other living beings.
What are you talking about. He's being realistic here. Just because we aren't all up in arms about it while we cry our eyes out doesn't mean we DON'T care about animals. Euthanization is the best thing they can do for them, I don't see why this is so hard to understand.
Goddamnit how come it's the capital of MY state that has to be asshats to animals? Damn you Deval!
:c
Bagsy the penguins. I've always wanted penguins living in my garden.
Or maybe those zoos don't have that much money either, or the room, or even the resources to keep them alive. Think before you post.
Or maybe they do, Think before you post
