Even nations without the death penalty still likely contribute soldiers to military efforts. I disagree with the death penalty for the above reasons, but it doesn't mean that I shed any tears if a convicted rapist/murderer trips and cracks his skull on the pavement.

Before I decide exactly who deserved how much of what, I need to ask the following question: What [b]exactly[/b] were these lobbyists trying to get done? I read the article, and all it says is "anti-gay stance". I can't exactly say "oh well they did nothing wrong here", because any anti-gay stance is bigotry. But how "anti-gay" are we talking here? Were they just opposing a "legalize gay marriage across the board" bill that didn't make it into the news for some reason? If so, then all they need is a simple education on why that's wrong. Anything further than that? Do we know?
