Oh boy an "Occupy _____" thread, time to read about police conspiracies to frame protesters and see basement dwelling Facepunchers calling for armed revolt. Where do I get my "fuK da Police" banner?
Police Conspiracies? The cameraman was pacing back and forth, half a foot a minute and some idle cop shot him. Shut the fuck up.
to be fair to the police that camera did look like an AK-47
That's not something we should hope for though. It'd be best if it could just stay peaceful and all, without that happening. I keep seeing a lot more people calling for open violence on the part of the Occupy movement and while I understand where they are coming from, the implications and consequences are just so far reaching. It wouldn't be good if it ever came to that. Any violence is bad, and more is only going to make it worse.
If by blood it was created, only by blood can it be ended.
Have people lost their minds? Violence won't solve anything, it'll only make things worse for everyone. The U.S. isn't Tunisia or Libya, its a terrible thought that we should have a violent rebellion. We don't need one and we shouldn't want one. We need reform, not destruction.
Well a few of my relatives are in the UK police force, and they only want to serve the community, I mean it's not like it's still the 70s where there was large scale police corruption But maybe i'm a little biased there And oh, someone with a nob on their face obviously
I think it's fair to say that the UK police force has been highly reformed and regulated over time, but I don't think it's fair to apply your anecdotal knowledge of UK police officers to forces worldwide. Police in the UK are less trained to deal with violent and organised groups of criminals because we have a very small amount of armed gang-related crime when compared to countries such as the USA. This could potentially be a factor as to why the US police seem to be far more prone to these kind of acts of violence in these high pressure situations. Just a thought, I don't have any real evidence of difference between UK and USA police training methods.
Yeah, everyone needs to remember that cameras can secretly be weapons, like those reporters in the Middle East who were running around with the RPG disguised as a video camera. For all the police could know, he might have been holding a shotgun or something inside that camera.
If he was carrying a shotgun (and pointing at the cops), he would have been shot on sight. No questions asked, and this wouldn't have been an issue, really.
