I'm sorry to tell you that 99% of the time exploding garbage cans are NOT side effects of steam or gas explosions.
Take it easy. All he's saying is that we need to stick to the facts, and the facts are that we don't know yet. It seems highly likely that it was bombs, but we won't know until there is an official statement.
if your going to bomb people at least bomb military/government I mean fuck why would you bring civilians into this
Shock value
I never said it was Muslims? (Even though statistically speaking its the most obvious choice), just was referring to terrorism in general
Wow, now it's starting to sound exactly like the Breivik incident. If there's anything to be learned from that, it's to never jump to conclusions like that.
that guy insults all polar bears extend that ban for a week please dav0r
Moment of the explosion Must have been terrifying when the second one went off
The way this video is shot is like a movie. Surreal.
if your going to bomb people at least bomb military/government I mean fuck why would you bring civilians into this
In the most bluntest truth - it's the military man's "job" to die, so in the long run no one is that concerned.
I'm sorry to tell you that 99% of the time exploding garbage cans are NOT side effects of steam or gas explosions.
It may look more and more likely as time goes on but jumping to the conclusion that "oh it was a terrorist bomb" from minute 1 without any proof is not a good idea Take all individual (non-major news network) reports with a pinch of salt, adrenaline does weird things Also BBC are confirming:
BREAKING NEWS Boston Police Department: two dead, 22 injured in two explosions near the marathon finish line.
Hearing reports that airspace is being shut down over Boston
I hope someone hits this guy REALLY hard.
how terrible that you'd wish violence on another human being. do you even think before you post??
they just called EoD to another location. potential 4th. stay tuned. http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/6254/web
The only words that can describe what I'm thinking now are "holy fucking shit"
Holy fuckshit.
shit, what kinda dick did this
Statistically speaking, it's not the most obvious answer. [thumb]http://i2.wp.com/www.loonwatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/piechart2.jpg[/thumb] Terrorist attacks on US soil by group from 1980 to 2005. Don't pull shit from your asshole the next time, thanks.
Ehhh don't jump too far in the wrong direction either. The type of attack matters, as does the year, and the fact that this is the FBI definition of terrorism:
“the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85).
That is a pretty all encompassing statement that is going to capture a significant amount of terrorism that your average layman wouldn't label as such. A series of bombs in a public place that has no political affiliation is very much the MO of Islamic extremism. Now this by no means makes them responsible, but it is likely given the location, type of attack, and current global situation. Again, I'm not saying that it is, but I am saying that there is far more to determining likelihood than a simple pie chart.
Wow, now it's starting to sound exactly like the Breivik incident. If there's anything to be learned from that, it's to never jump to conclusions like that.
Whatever. I have a lot of family that run the marathon every year so I overreacted and posted something dumb about terrorists. I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions but you should see what people are putting all over Twitter right now
Hearing reports that airspace is being shut down over Boston
Thats just standard procedure when dealing with MCI's
The bombs (if that's what they were) were relatively small. I'd be more willing to believe these were accident if they didn't happen at the finish line (where anyone knows the most people would be gathered) But I'm not sure the worst is over yet.
New image. Minimal gore, but still NSFW and possibly NSFL.
Not safe for work or anything, gore and severed limbs. I'm amazed he's still conscious
Boston police only confirm 2 dead 22 injured
suspicious package, bomb sniffing dogs are being directed, ASAP.
how terrible that you'd wish violence on another human being. do you even think before you post??
It's not that bad, you're really overreacting over an emotionally charged post.
Just heard the radio mention another suspicious package have been found
shit, what kinda dick did this
"Dick" is a bit tame.
Not safe for work or anything, gore and severed limbs. I'm amazed he's still conscious
Oh my lordy...
Not safe for work or anything, gore and severed limbs. I'm amazed he's still conscious
If I was in that situation I'd rather not be conscious to be honest.

Suicide attacks are the Islamic style, shooting is the American style, bombing like this knows no borders.
Well, bombing civilians is more of a statement and is more terrifying to the general public than bombing military personnel. Sad, but that's probably part of the motivation.

The entire goal of most IS to bomb those. The civilians are just there to get the other targets to arrive. Thats why they have multiple bombs

Attacking civilians creates a bigger social impact, makes people more scared, more angry. From a strategist's perspective, it's the easier, more preferrable target. We're a shit species.

It's to spread fear but in the long run all it ends up doing is uniting more people against them

Because they want to inflict terror. I don't think military personnel become terrorized as easily as the unsuspecting populace.

That's a terrorist's M/O. To spread fear and terror by harming the innocent.
I think it's just better to just say this I'll never understand why people do this shit and I guess its a really good thing. I mean to me at least politics = political statement??? Happy to say I'd make a shitty terrorist.
ALJ was just saying it could not have been a trash can since those things are usually moved out of the way in these sort of events.
Wow, someone made a fake twitter account to whore retweets from this. https://twitter.com/_BostonMarathon Fucking scum.
