what baffles my mind is how 9/11, the holocaust, columbine and any other number of tragedies are okay to joke about because they happened a while ago
like, everything is sacred or nothing is, it can't be both ways, you can't pick and choose what to be offended by.
I understand people died and that's pretty sad but I think a lot of you are trying to look for a reason to be sad to be a part of this
100+ injured, reports CNN
"BOSTON GLOBE: 100+ HURT IN BOMBINGS"
CNN hasn't confirmed it.
NBC just showed a photo of the charred entrance to the JFK library. Definitely some kind of fire or explosion there.
I am just gonna wait until real evidence is found.
I know this isn't an accident. Please let's hope that Saudi guy is it..

Fuck'em. Every last one of them.
I wouldn't jump to conclusion to make this a terrorist attack. It could easily be some insane person who planet the bombs for whatever reason.
domestic TERRORISTS exist
I wouldn't jump to conclusion to make this a terrorist attack. It could easily be some insane person who planet the bombs for whatever reason.
Still would be considered a terrorist act. Just domestic.
100+ injured, reports CNN
please stop giving them views, you're only encouraging their horrible media practices, just wait
100+ injured, reports CNN
Way too high compared to the other reports.
In my mind, the best way to deal with mass tragedy and pain is to laugh at it
That's the sad thing about events like this. It's human to feel depressed about this kind of stuff. I don't even know what to call it when you would rather laugh at these things. A lot of people were going about their daily lives. None of them were causing any trouble. Just watching a marathon. But instead a couple of those peoples lives ended today for no reason. And several people are injured. That's not something you laugh at or joke about. That's something that needs to be taken seriously. I truly feel sorry for those affected and I hope that those who are injured recover fast without complications.
Cant wait to see what the fucker(s) looks like.
The package was in or next to a trashcan, which in turn was next to a recycle bin. They were sending someone over to check it out I think. I only heard a little bit about the backpack.
holy fuck.
this is horrible to listen to :(
I wonder who will claim responsibility for it.

It's all about the passage of time. People need to heal before the jokes come across as anything other than insensitive. For some people, it's never appropriate.
I personally don't have an aversion to people using morbid humor as a coping mechanism, but I can certainly see why most people don't like it.
I'm personally sorry if I've offended anyone in this thread.
Been an avid 4channer for years.
In my mind, the best way to deal with mass tragedy and pain is to laugh at it, it sounds twisted as fuck but really it's the only way I can stay sane about it.
If I start to process how many fucking people had their lives ruined today I'd sink into a depression, worse than I already am.
i feel ya, mate. i crack jokes about tragedies just so i can cope with them. if i didn't i'd have lost it already.
i know what it's like to have a family destroyed by a random, fatal act. my heart goes out to all the victims and their families, and i hope that one day we can remember this day and laugh at it. better to take something good from a horrible act than to let it ruin your life, you know?
life is just periods of bad mixed in with periods of good. i'm waiting on the good right now, and if we didn't have the bad, the good would be meaningless.
The news anchor on NBC just tried comparing this to bombings and bombing techniques in the middle east. Not sure if he's trying to insinuate something or not but it sure sounded like it.
Can someone post images, if any, of the JFK library?
Really hope that bag they found at the ER isn't another bomb or some shit.

It's called "too soon."
domestic TERRORISTS exist
Yeah, it's what I meant. Could be some crazy radical American who did it for whichever reason. Like Unabomber for example.
Holy shit, the dispatcher here: http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/6254/?rl=rr just said something about a "Military style duffel bag" being left in an ER.
This could be bad.
what baffles my mind is how 9/11, the holocaust, columbine and any other number of tragedies are okay to joke about
When is a tragedy deemed funny or "ok to joke about"? That is such dumb logic and very disrespecful.

I get this as well and maybe I'm jaded and pessimistic as FUCK but in my mind people die every single day, countless crimes happen around the globes, open up the paper and count how many grisly murders occured over the weekend
it's just too much for me to get worked up over one thing, if I did that I'd spend my entire life in mourning and depression
this is awful and I'm truly sorry for anyone who was afflicted by this, I hope somehow you can find solace in your life and recover if possible

Or it could just be from one of the many National Guard in the area. Let's not jump to conclusions yet.

It could just be a duffel bag. Lets not speculate.

I always forget you're one of the most laid back reasonable people on FP
Apparently there is a person of interest in custody
