Pretty much everything you could ever want to know about the independence plans are in this huge document
They want a integrated military
Nah they want a small Scottish Army and nuclear weapons removed from Scotland
They want to keep the pound
True and they might have to delegate monetary policy to the Bank of England which would be pretty funny
They want to keep British passports
Nah they want to issue Scottish passports, though current UK passports would continue to work until they expire
They wants to keep the Queen They wants open boarders
True but many countries do things like this already
In this era of increased global unity and cooperation, it would be a complete step backward to be seceding from a union which has lasted over 300 years.
Shit happens, and countries fall apart, such is life
Personally, I hope Scotland gets independence. If they do, It may help the NI independence movement.
[editline]8th February 2014[/editline] um currently scotland has a parliament which allows it to vote on issues like: but control of these: stays with westminster. now in scotland, we have different social and economic issues that can't be represented effectively down in the main parliament without control over these powers. independence is just about us being able to decide what to do with these matters, no funny nationalistic shit, no bravehart bollocks, just a more representative political process all round. a right wing government, as in elected down south (without our involvement, we have 1 conservative MP) speaks on issues like immigration in a way that doesn't really jel with scotland, but serves england and wales pretty well. the benefit reforms and shit like the bedroom tax. in scotland, we don't really fancy it (and since we passed legislation to prevent people being evicted over the bedroom tax, we have to pay millions to prop it up, instead of it just never being passed in the first place) this isn't an SNP plot for them to establish a dictatorship, i wouldn't even vote for them and i see their party support declining in a post-yes scotland.
I do think more devolution, giving scottish parliament more power, would be a better way to go about this. Cameron should offer that as an alternative to independence if he really wants to maintain the union but, sadly, he and his government are incompetent idiots.
NI independence movement
I don't think this really exists, does it?
as long as the flag remains the same, i don't care what happens
It would do horrible things to his reputation and historical impact if he were to be prime minister during the breaking up of the Kingdom.
Not like it'd make much of a difference anyway, we all know Cameron's a bit of a cunt
In an emotional speech, he spoke about his Scottish ancestry and said the referendum was "personal" to him.
I wish he would stop pulling empathetic shit like this, it's stupid. He really does not care at all about what the people think, he only wants more votes. Politicians and the Media sicken me, for real.
I don't think this really exists, does it?
Not sure if serious...
as long as the flag remains the same, i don't care what happens
I don't know, it'd be strange to have a part of the flag represent something that no longer exists in its borders.
I don't think this really exists, does it?
Not in any major way https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulster_nationalism
Either Ulster is annexed by Ireland or Ireland is annexed by Britain, that border looks hideous.
Northern Ireland should just be renamed to Ulster, it at least makes them sound different.
