It's just a woman with a beard.
This man is a man so long as he considers his gender to be male. But no, Mr. Dr. farmatyr clearly knows better about the way gender identity works. [editline]9th March 2012[/editline] And no doubt the shit storm begins.
and genders are just an imaginary social construct [editline]1[/editline] you said that as if there are inherent qualifiers for genders
There aren't? What about (working)genitalia, skeletal structure and such? I remember reading and article about a trans-gender male who was banned from a female golfing-contests because he was beating all the women(in golf, not with the golf-club).
There aren't? What about (working)genitalia, skeletal structure and such?
gender =/= sex
-snip- Didn't mean to start anything, should have educated myself on the subject more. Sorry if I offended anyone.
Who wears the pants? That's awesome that he has such an understanding family. It's good to see that people are becoming more tolerant of things that shouldn't be an issue.
I could understand 100% if he wanted to leave her after a switch like that, really. I'd probably do the same.
It's just a woman with a beard.
Oh for fucks sakes, you had to go and ruin it.
It's just a woman with a beard.
i understand that you might occasionally have the urge to dump your ignorance all over perfectly good threads but please do everyone a favor and resist that urge when it arises. how about the next time you feel like doing ^this^ you go eat a sandwich or masturbate instead, ok?
Woman goes through menopause. Thinks new hormonal levels should make her a man. But seriously, if she's sticking to her married partner WHY would you decide to change your sex. Why does it matter at all? I am a heterosexual male and I would be indifferent to being a man/woman as long as I stay with the person I love, so why complicate things and spend a whole bunch of money on an unnatural process?
While I'm all for freedom of sexuality and gender identity, "He" is still genetically female and will always be, no amount of willpower, surgery or hormone pills will ever change that. It's just the cold hard facts.
Wow am I going to have to explain to you idiots how this works again? You do NOT identify someone by their biological sex when you know they identify their gender to the contrary. The only time it's ok to that is if you are referring specifically to their biological sex and not to the actual person. Referring to someone you KNOW identifies their gender as male as a woman is extremely insulting.
Good for him.
her*
Woman goes through menopause. Thinks new hormonal levels should make her a man.
I'm just going to assume you're trolling. In case you really are this stupid, please educate yourself. http://www.webmd.com/sex/gender-identity-disorder
her*
Really, what do you even have to gain by deliberately using the wrong pronoun? It just serves to make you look like an abject stooge.
Really, what do you even have to gain by deliberately using the wrong pronoun? It just serves to make you look like an abject stooge.
He's just trying to shit up the thread.
and genders are just an imaginary social construct [editline]1[/editline] you said that as if there are inherent qualifiers for genders
I might be mistaken but I believe there's a difference between gender and gender identities, and you're referring to gender identities.
I might be mistaken but I believe there's a difference between gender and gender identities, and you're referring to gender identities.
If you are aware of somebody's gender identity being male you never refer to the actual person as a woman. You certainly don't say that this man is "just a woman with a beard".
What is the difference between sex and gender? Sex is assigned at birth, refers to one’s biological status as either male or female, and is associated primarily with physical attributes such as chromosomes, hormone prevalence, and external and internal anatomy. Gender refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviors, activities, and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for boys and men or girls and women. These influence the ways that people act, interact, and feel about themselves. While aspects of biological sex are similar across different cultures, aspects of gender may differ.
In other words, sex and gender are different. Refer to us as our gender, please. I'd never be able to accept someone in my family trying to switch gender. I'm glad that this family could, though.
I'd never be able to accept someone in my family trying to switch gender. I'm glad that this family could, though.
Why not?
Why not?
Because of their own reservations on how things should be? Based on their own morals, upbringing, etc.
I'd never be able to accept someone in my family trying to switch gender. I'm glad that this family could, though.
so basically you are a terrible human being then
Because of their own reservations on how things should be? Based on their own morals, upbringing, etc.
Morals and upbringings is what causes hatred towards gays from religions who think gays are going to ruin humanity. GG.
so basically you are a terrible human being then
That poster said that they were glad that family could accept it, based on that own posters morals and opinions they think that family is much stronger than themself for being able to do that. Not a terrible human being, but weaker in that regard than they would prefer to be.
so basically you are a terrible human being then
you're kidding right a person who you grew up with changing their gender identity is a lot to take in
you transphobic people sicken me
there's a difference between " a lot to take in " and "i would never be able to accept them"
you're kidding right a person who you grew up with changing their gender identity is a lot to take in
True, but saying that you'd never be able to accept it is a pretty strong statement to make.
there's a difference between " a lot to take in " and "i would never be able to accept them"
if one of my parents changed their gender identities I don't think that I would ever fully accept it sorry if that doesn't make me a shining example of a human being
I'm just going to assume you're trolling. In case you really are this stupid, please educate yourself. http://www.webmd.com/sex/gender-identity-disorder
Newbz has shit on the last 2 trans threads I've read, this is no surprise. [editline]10th March 2012[/editline]
Morals and upbringings is what causes hatred towards gays from religions who think gays are going to ruin humanity. GG.
Why is it that whenever I hear someone mention "morals" it is usually used as a flimsy justification for their hatred/disapproval of others?
I wonder what it is about transexuality threads that attracts Sanius.
