exactly, why give your patronage to a site run by people who have done so much to prevent deletion of child porn from their site?
I think it was the fact that reddit has a pretty strong stance on "Freedom of speech" regardless of context, and the fact that what they were posting was technically legal (although still not morally correct).
It's porn if you jack off to it.
It's porn if you jack off to it.
porn is imagery/video/writing depicting sexual acts.
I swear, discussing Reddit on this site should be bannable, because it just causes the thread to descend into a massive shit-fest. There's actually a lot of good stuff on Reddit, and I'll usually see content a good 12 hours or so earlier on there than on Facepunch. But aside from that, everyone here has the idea that everything they do is terrible, even though plenty of other sites are guilty. When 4Chan gets hold of nude photos of some girl and contact her family, people celebrate and talk about justice. Semi-nude pics of members here have also been revealed, and no one gave a shit (If I remember correctly, Foghorn and HARDCORERAPE, both of which were underaged). I remember both Foghorn and CourageDog leaving because how people treated them so differently for being girls. And it was not too long ago that posting jailbait on FP was acceptable. No doubt some of the stuff on Reddit is unacceptable, and maybe times have changed here, but don't talk as if our community is mature and what-not and how Reddit is just "neckbeard teenage misogynists". Not only have we done some pretty bad shit, but we also celebrate a lot of this stuff that happens on other sites. Y'know, as long as it wasn't Reddit...

We can take this discussion when those admins have acquired at-least a BASIC version of common sense and decency.
Or you could not take such a simplistic view of it and accept that both Facepunch and Reddit have their issues.
For all of Facepunch's faults, i've never seen outside pressure being required to prompt the mods to remove child porn.
For all of Facepunch's faults, i've never seen outside pressure being required to prompt the mods to remove child porn.
I'm not defending the reddit admins, just trying to explain why they might have been reluctant. If they so easily remove subreddits that while they may be immoral but legal then it obviously pisses off a lot of people, while if they don't do it then they piss off another big group of folk. It's just a shitty situation with no good solution really. And one of the mods posted about one of the subreddits being deleted, they said that essentially what happened was someone started a subreddit for petite chicks but that he rarely actually moderated it or nominated other mods so it just flew under the radar and the shit getting posted just went sour. Again not defending what's happened either way just giving my opinion, and while facepunch can rag on reddit all day and night, that doesn't change the fact that I've seen a lot of stuff on facepunch copied word for word from reddit a few hours later, at least here in SH.
Seriously, people have such a hard time controlling your urges out of respect for the other?
Seriously, people have such a hard time controlling your urges out of respect for the other?
Respect is in perpetually short supply.
porn is imagery/video/writing depicting sexual acts.
Bullshit. DaVinci didn't paint porn.
Respect is in perpetually short supply.
it's also subjective and does not have a universal definition [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] laws can't be made to prevent everyone from being offended and at the same time allow everyone to do what they want
It's porn if you jack off to it.
Jacked off to toaster toaster is porn
Those are all taken in public space and don't really harm anybody. I just gave it a quick look but it doesn't look like anybody is photographed while doing something awkward. It's just guys taking pictures of women they think looked good and showing others. It would be better of course if they would have asked them to take their picture but this may be hard for some people.
I took pictures up women's skirts and of nothing but their cleavage because the women are ~pretty~. I swear I'm not abnormal!
Bullshit. DaVinci didn't paint porn.
You might say that the thought is what matters even in this.
Awww, after the first paragraph I was expecting a guide... (User was banned for this post ("Creep" - Starpluck))
