How can you prefer an Xbox gamepad though? The Dualshock is infinitely more useful for fightings, which is what you'd mainly use a gamepad for anyway on a PC.
personal preference and ease of use though in my case the xbox controller feels too big and cramps up my hands after a while
How can you prefer an Xbox gamepad though? The Dualshock is infinitely more useful for fightings, which is what you'd mainly use a gamepad for anyway on a PC.
The Xbox One controller supposedly has a much, much better Dpad in it.
If I was buying an Xbox One, and it came with the controller with batteries but no USB cable I'd be pissed.
Well... [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] No, I refuse to believe that. That's just too much bullshit.
Finally now I can play racing games again. For some reason I always find racing games more enjoyable on a controller than keyboard/mouse
Finally now I can play racing games again. For some reason I always find racing games more enjoyable on a controller than keyboard/mouse
You are confused that Analogue > Digital for steering?
So it's gonna work exactly like the DS2 does when plugged in except you wont need an adapter, cool.
Are you fucking kidding me? [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] No, I refuse to believe that. That's just too much bullshit.
They've probably made a fortune doing that with the Xbox 360; can't say I'm surprised they're still doing it with the Xbox One.
You are confused that Analogue > Digital for steering?
No I mean the feel of it a keyboard and mouse just doesn't feel right using. Shooter, rts, etc I love a keyboard an mouse, for driving I love the feel of a PS controller.
I wonder how expensive it's going to be. I'll buy it if it's less than the One controller which is overpriced IMO, but i can't imagine it's going to be cheap considering it has a touch pad.

oh balls i already have a wired 360 controller [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] and this would be better for ps1 and ps2 emulator stuff damn
I don't think that controller comes wired, and it still uses batteries too so I don't think it will come with any sort of WEIRD XBOX CONTROLLER PORT OUT to USB IN cable right out of the box.
What controller? Just use a wired Xbox controller ya dingus
That's quite a smart business move imo, 2 markets for the price of 1. Even if people don't get a PS4, they might just buy the controller for suitable PC games.
Exactly this, for example, I think that using a controller in combination with an Oculus Rift works much better than OR and keyboard, so when the controller is out I'll probably buy it for OR.
Ballin'. Just a shame that the buttons are no longer pressure-sensitive. No true Start/Select either.
If it works wirelessly with my Bluetooth dongle like my current PS3 Controller does with some extra drivers. I will happily use this thing (I'm not even getting a PS4 lol)
How can you prefer an Xbox gamepad though? The Dualshock is infinitely more useful for fightings, which is what you'd mainly use a gamepad for anyway on a PC.
I personally prefer the analog stick being where the d-pad is. Hence why I use a wired 360 controller.
I personally prefer the analog stick being where the d-pad is. Hence why I use a wired 360 controller.
Haven't felt the PS4 controller yet, but having owned both a 360 and a PS3, the 360 controller was a much, much better feeling controller.
boy oh boy I can't wait to buy another £30 adapter for the xbox one controller!
ZachPL rating dumb makes this post even funnier
Fuck yes, no more application that doesn't work for a controller that SHOULD work!
Why is everyone talking about how hard the PS3 controller is to use on Windows? I plug mine in and it's recognized as PS3 controller and works immediately: I haven't installed anything
It's gotten better recently. MotionJoy is now a mostly one-click tool (every time you plug the controller in you have to tell it what to emulate still I find). But native support is a lot, lot nicer.
i havent had to open motionjoy once in the past 6 months since i installed it, and i plug/unplug the controller regularly
Sweet.
As it stands, most gamers prefer the Xbox 360 controller for the most comfortable computer gaming
Wrong. Well, at least for me, wrong. I have always preferred the dual shock. I find the placement of the left stick and d-pad on the 360 controller is fucking asinine, using the triggers for any length of time makes my fingers hurt, and the L1/R1 buttons tend to not respond to inputs all the time because of where they are in relation to the triggers. The reason I bought one anyway is because it was plug and play. My 360 pad is getting a bit worn out. I'm replacing it with a DualShock 4.

So unless there's something I am missing you still need some other program to make it work.
i havent had to open motionjoy once in the past 6 months since i installed it, and i plug/unplug the controller regularly
Might just be me doing something wrong then. Games don't tend to recognise the controller as a 360 one unless I use MotionJoy to turn on emulation explicitly. It's weird mine is doing that then.
I just tried this and got that up but nothing actually works and calibration doesn't work. So unless there's something I am missing you still need some other program to make it work.
It recognizes input for me. Obviously games don't recognize it as a 360 pad but it works in games that support generic gamepads. For what it's worth this is one of the super-old Sixaxis controllers that didn't have rumble. [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] Yeah just tried my dualshock 3 and it doesn't work
Good, getting my ps3 controller to work on my pc was kind of a pain in the asshole
Probably plugging it into the wrong "port" then.
Good, getting my ps3 controller to work on my pc was kind of a pain in the asshole
I found something that makes it not a pain in the ass, works better then motioninjoy too http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller works both wired and bluetooth [editline]5th September 2013[/editline]
Why is everyone talking about how hard the PS3 controller is to use on Windows? There's someone at Valve with a boner right now if this works with Bluetooth. A good controller for Big Picture mode, and it has a touchpad built-in.
