This is so awesome. I used a DS4 at PAX, it's very comfy.
I will buy one just for Sonic Adventure 2
and i was going to buy an xbox one controller for my PC #xboxdone
I hope this means that after PS4 is released, we'll see games on PC with playstation UI if the controller is plugged in. I get confused sometimes when playing a PC game with a DS3 and have the xbox UI so that'd be very nice.
Sweet. Wrong. Well, at least for me, wrong. I have always preferred the dual shock. I find the placement of the left stick and d-pad on the 360 controller is fucking asinine
I don't see you how can think this since nearly every console's controllers have had the stick placement similar to the 360's. Only reason the dualshock's placement is the way it is is because the PS1 shipped with a controller without the sticks, and when they added the sticks old games weren't compatible so they didn't wanna screw old game support.
I always find my Xbox controller way too big, I'd love to replace it with a dualshock.
It'd be pretty cool if they released a proper Bluetooth driver, too.
How can you prefer an Xbox gamepad though? The Dualshock is infinitely more useful for fightings, which is what you'd mainly use a gamepad for anyway on a PC.
I'm like one of probably 3 who play fighters with a keyboard.

Wow, Zachpl rated this Optimistic.
Excellent, finally a good pc pad
Now just make it work via Bluetooth sony so I don't have to use motionjoy and choose between a wireless mouse and a wireless gamepad
Wait, it's possible to make it work without bluetooth and motionjoy? Cause my pc doesn't have bluetooth. Could you tell me how?
You are confused that Analogue > Digital for steering?
Oddly, I seem to perform better when using my keyboard for racing games, as with a controler I'm consantly clacking the thumbstick around.
I don't think that controller comes wired, and it still uses batteries too so I don't think it will come with any sort of WEIRD XBOX CONTROLLER PORT OUT to USB IN cable right out of the box.
It's got a micro-usb out, actually. Probably won't come with a cable though.
I think the PS4 controller is fucking awesome, but I just got so used to the left analog stick being a little bit higher than the right one that I just can't get used to it :|
Keyboard master race

Your hands (should) be symmetrical, so why have your hands placed unevenly on the controller? Neither format bothers me at all, I just don't get why people say that. [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] Playing with a controller puts you at a disadvantage against those with mice, anyways.

[editline]5th September 2013[/editline] Playing with a controller puts you at a disadvantage against those with mice, anyways.
it's a matter of opinion of whether resting position is top or bottom of controller. when i grab my xbox controller, my right thumb is somewhere in the middle between rightstick and face buttons. other people feel that thumbs on stick is the resting position, therefore they like dualshocks better
What if there's the case where it can't work because you plugged more the laptop can hold? Like one slot for HDD, another for hub, and the third one plugged on the hub but turned out that you can't use it at all?
Good, getting my ps3 controller to work on my pc was kind of a pain in the asshole
I fucked my computer up hardcore a few years ago trying actually. Sooooo happy to hear this. [editline]5th September 2013[/editline] I don't like playing shooters with controllers but anything else, or even just atmospheric shooters, can sometimes benefit from a controller.
Kind of cool to have more controller options, but the actual quote merely implies that it will work and doesn't really say it directly.
I don't see you how can think this since nearly every console's controllers have had the stick placement similar to the 360's. Put the analog sticks in line with one another, as on the Dual Shock line, and they work for me. Stagger them, as most notably seen on the 360 pad, and it feels odd.
How can you prefer an Xbox gamepad though? The Dualshock is infinitely more useful for fightings, which is what you'd mainly use a gamepad for anyway on a PC.
I bought my 360 pad for driving and flying games. I can't stand fighting games, yet my 360 pad is a well loved accessory. Even if I don't agree with the layout on it. [editline]6th September 2013[/editline]
other people feel that thumbs on stick is the resting position, therefore they like dualshocks better
Perhaps that's why I find the dualshocks more comfortable to hold. I've never quite been able to put my finger on it until you mentioned this. [editline]6th September 2013[/editline]
what i feel is that movement doesn't require as much precision as aiming, so your right thumb is more tense on the right stick, while the left one is relaxed so you can move around without much effort
Could also be the types of games primarily played? Shooters I universally play with MKB, but driving and flying games I play on an analog input of some sort. Currently, a controller. Throttle, Brake and Steering all require roughly the same amount of precision.
Wonder if their VR headset will work with PC too.
Playing with a controller puts you at a disadvantage against those with mice, anyways.
That's such a stupid thing to say, because it only really applies to shooters and strategy games.
That's such a stupid thing to say, because it only really applies to shooters and strategy games.
Sort of, some other genres too. But I'd say you're never at a disadvantage with a mouse and keyboard, unlike a controller in which you're at a disadvantage with some genres.
Sort of, some other genres too. But I'd say you're never at a disadvantage with a mouse and keyboard, unlike a controller in which you're at a disadvantage with some genres.
What if you need to spin around to aim at someone and your mouse hits the end of the mousepad? Or need any kind of analogue movement (racing game)
What if you need to spin around to aim at someone and your mouse hits the end of the mousepad? Or need any kind of analogue movement (racing game)
The former, surely you have time to pick up your mouse mat and move it in the 30 second period it takes you to move around? (in other words: turn your sensitivity up) The latter I completely agree, it is less comfortable, but I don't think you'll do any worse.
Sort of, some other genres too. But I'd say you're never at a disadvantage with a mouse and keyboard, unlike a controller in which you're at a disadvantage with some genres.
Dark Souls. Devil May Cry-esque games. Games about driving cars, and especially those about doing it accurately. Most platformers. (Super Meat Boy etc) These kinds of games are just way better with controllers. You'd be at a disadvantage with mouse and keyboard. [editline]6th September 2013[/editline]
What if you need to spin around to aim at someone and your mouse hits the end of the mousepad?
Turn up your sensitivity, this is really not a problem :v:
That's such a stupid thing to say, because it only really applies to shooters and strategy games.
Most games rely on reaction time which a mouse moves as fast as you move. [editline]6th September 2013[/editline] Unless you're playing bejewled

[editline]6th September 2013[/editline] Turn up your sensitivity, this is really not a problem :v:
Some people actually prefer binary (on/off) controls over analogue actually. In my experience: mouse is more efficient, controller is more immersive. Driving/Flight/3rd person slasher games can usually benefit from a [del]mouse[/del] controller (oops), but if it's a PROPER port then they're simply tradeoffs. Most people who play with a mouse don't run out of "mousepad space". It's a subconscious thing to recenter the mouse occasionally and even me, with the VERY low 10% sensitivity I have going on in most of my games, can spin around about 4 or 5 times with half of the mousepad.
