Don't they teach you to think before you speak in France? Read the fucking article and educate yourself, it's a small business.
Do employees in the united states have absolutely no rights at all or what

Would probably take lots of work and effort, and that's what he tried to avoid to begin with so he could spend more time with his wife.

Lulzsec wouldn't give a shit about this.
They will probably receive plenty of donations from the publicity caused by being fired, I believe the money problem will work itself out.
"It's just business" is a really pathetic and lazy excuse for a lot of unjust shit.

Why? So they can ruin their lives and take what little money they might have at the moment?

Companies lose a lot of money when client's info gets leaked. Normally because they lose most of those customers.
Boss has no heart. Any normal person in the bosses situation would allow the dudes schedule. The guy even offered to make up the lost time. He just wanted to spend some time with his dying wife of 23 years.
As was said before, the boss is a bitch

^ This.
And before someone turns around and goes durp, valid reasoning! You'll find that in other countries that this sort of thing really isn't allowed. In the UK he'd be able to go to a tribunal and have it turned around (or at least recieve a decent amount of money for the trouble).

I'd rather they didn't get involved because they are the type to fuck over cancer patients 'for the lulz'. They are assholes.
If I were them I would TRY redirecting money from an evil company and donate it all to cancer research 'for the lulz'.
Now it has made the news he will be headhunted by other companies.

It doesn't matter who's in office. The government has been selling out to people with money regardless of who is in power, which is why people think capitalism is so corrupt. It is, when the government is buffing their frat buddies in the corporate sector.
Knowing how small businesses like this work, the boss probably didn't have any choice if (s)he wanted to stay in business. It could've been handled better, but is your own livelihood really worth one of your employee's? The question is a difficult one - the business may have run into trouble anyway just by keeping him, thus rendering him without a job still, and at further expense to the owner than by simply cutting him loose.
I'm glad I don't have to make these kinds of decisions. It would hurt too much.
So, it's legal to fire somebody just because they asked for a change in schedule? Not that they stopped showing up for work, but just for asking?
Oh man, that is just wrong... :smith:
