Obama vows action against Russia over election hacks

Remember, everybody is upset that the Russians (allegedly) exposed fraud and electioneering, instead of actually acting on said behavior.
Man, conservatives sure latched onto big daddy Russia real fast. Suddenly it doesn't matter if foreign countries meddle in our elections, they got to stick to to the libs!
Fucking traitors.
what are you even talking about, his thread was perfectly valid, the fbi director said there was no conclusive evidence that the russian govt was behind the hacking, which means there's nothing wrong with monkah's post
what even is the point of your post?
Whatever the FBI says right now is fucking invalid, Comey personally and deliberately had a hand in fucking with the election.
Right now, he's standing right next to the suspects.

Tudd acknowledged that the "source" of the news was extremely sketchy but posted it anyways. The article he linked to has no secondary source of the information. Read further in the topic.

Did the Russians set up a private email server?
Did the Russians call for open borders?
Did the Russians use a shady charity for pay to play politics?
Did the Russians collude with the DNC to get their candidate in the primaries?
Did the Russians sellout to Wall Street?
Did the Russians lie about Libya?
Hillary killed her own chances by being a shitty candidate. Shifting blame isn't gonna change the fact she hung herself.

Half of those are bullshit republican talking points, and Trump has already turned out to be the worst thing possible for the country.
America is KILLING ITSELF and all the fucking conservatives can think to do is laugh at the fire they've set and at the anguish of everyone else.
The further this goes, the closer I get to getting put on a fucking list.

Disgruntled didn't even mention Hillary. Hillary doesn't even factor into this. Right now there's intelligence that a foreign power attempted to influence our election to weaken us, and it should concern anyone who actually cares about this country.
i've given up hope on avoiding armed conflict with russia while i'm still in fighting age
To the people who say that whoever leaked the DNC emails did us a favor, I've got a hypothetical scenario:
Lets imagine that evidence came up that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Russian government was responsible for hacking and leaking the emails. How would you want President Trump to respond to it?

None of those are bullshit Republican talking points.
Start WW3, since it looks like Clinton won't get the chance to.
No really, though, we have the FBI and numerous other intelligence agencies saying that there's no indication that the Russians are behind this. Why are we throwing around accusations before we can even come to a solid conclusion?
Not to mention, interestingly enough, it's moderately amusing how 'the most transparent president in history' is attacking the leakers instead of the material of the leaks. For shame.
FBI is unverified, and the article posted in SH had very few sources and no actual concrete evidence. CIA believes Russia did it. The White House believes Russia did it. Independent hacking analysts CrowdStrike, FireEye, Kaspersky, Symantec, and numerous other cybersecurity and antivirus firms have analyzed the malware used and concluded that it was never used up until the DNC hacks and that it was a very sophisticated piece of code that would be very, very unusual to have been developed by an independent hacker.
A professionally designed, sophisticated piece of malware that had marked similarities to other forms of malware used by Russian APT actors and hadn't been used or detected before the DNC leaks. Obviously, there's zero evidence, could've easily been just some random script kiddie who decided to take time out of his day to custom-write sophisticated malware to hack a specific target.
The evidence is not absolutely conclusive, I agree, but the people going out saying "some 400 pound russian script kiddie nerd" are ignoring the evidence provided by DOZENS of independent analyses that agree with the initial CrowdStrike analysis that it originates from Russian intelligence.

Thanks, this was a really informative post.
The worrying moment when a conspiracy theory is going to invoke real action by the outgoing president.
It seems like the US is set on a path to conflict with Russia, no matter what happens (or doesn't happen).
Thanks, this was a really informative post.
And I almost guarantee the local Trump/Russia shills here will dismiss it immediately.

If you take up the attitude that you don't give a shit about Clinton losing, this argument falls apart mighty quick. I'm happy she lost. I want Trump to be president. He won the electoral votes. There is no sign of vote rigging or tampering. I don't care if the left is using this as an excuse for her shitty campaign. I don't care if calling out Russia's bullshit "further divides" us. This isn't okay, and it shouldn't be a partisan issue.

Do you really think that the fucking President of the United States has as little information as the general public has on this issue?
Calling this a "conspiracy theory" is accurate - it's a theory about a possible conspiracy by Russia to influence the elections. This conspiracy theory, unfortunately, has the backing of numerous cybersecurity experts and hacking analysts, it has widespread support among the US intelligence community, and while the public evidence is clearly lacking, you have to assume that a president with miles more information than the general public wouldn't poke a stick at Russia just because "well maybe we got hacked."
The irony of calling this a conspiracy theory and then not recognizing that Trump has literally peddled nonsense, bullshit conspiracy theories invented by the master of conspiracy theorism, Alex fucking Jones.

What's not ok about transparency? The voters deserved to know and I'd fully support similar leaks/hacks on the RNC and Trump.
Also, there was rigging and/or tampering going on.
Obama is highly unlikely to actually do anything. The man has been a wet noodle his entire career.

I actually acknowledge mostly with what he said.
I am just still not going to conclusively start posting as if Russia did it. There is still a chance it was another actor.

You're stuck in the loop whereby you think people only believe this to be a conspiracy theory yet don't believe that Alex Jones' musings are conspiracy theories (Pizzagate).
It's time to realise the obvious that there exists a vast group of people that understand that conspiracy theories are being spread from both sides of the political spectrum and from many actors to suit their needs.
Evidently, Obama has a lot more power than Alex Jones. Pizzagate is a farfetched and crazy theory, but this vowing of 'action' against Russia over something that is pretty inconclusive is one likely to manifest great damage and problems, particularly since the US has been edging further and further to a conflict with Russia.
I can't imagine this is anything but posturing, it's far too late to push anything through Congress and anything he does while in office could be easily reversed by Trump after his inauguration.

Comparing Jones and Pizzagate to the White House administration and these hacks is one of the biggest false equivalences i've ever seen on SH
I am sorry but in that link you provided entire "evidence" is nothign but just a statement from national intelligence:
https://www.dni.gov/index.php/newsroom/press-releases/215-press-releases-2016/1423-joint-dhs-odni-election-security-statement
wich is unsurprisingly -
a wall of text without any proof.
Here's the first part of that text:
The U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) is confident that the Russian Government directed the recent compromises of e-mails from US persons and institutions, including from US political organizations. The recent disclosures of alleged hacked e-mails on sites like DCLeaks.com and WikiLeaks and by the Guccifer 2.0 online persona are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process. Such activity is not new to Moscow—the Russians have used similar tactics and techniques across Europe and Eurasia, for example, to influence public opinion there. We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia's senior-most officials could have authorized these activities.
What a solid evidence. They believe it has connections with Russia
Why bother, you dismissed the arguments before you heard them... In other words you are an ideologue.
Not that I support doing it myself, but they're doing it because the person being brought to attention never comes in these types or threads but will happily post in something they can go "See? Nothing bad here". It's a cycle.
You're just trying to justify Human Abyss baiting people he disagrees with in every political/Trump thread.

As a result of the Republican controlled government with a Democrat president.

His own fault. Shouldn't snub the people across the aisle when it comes to something as monumental like Healthcare. Fantastic way to ensure they spend the rest of your presidency blocking anything you wanna do.

But Republicans prioritized blocking Obama well before the healthcare discussions even began.

They were blocking him from day one.
This happens any time there's any kind of difference in who's in the seats.
It's a huge flaw with the system because rather than blocking something based on morals or if it's bad, it gets blocked because your party says it has to be.
But Republicans prioritized blocking Obama well before the healthcare discussions even began.
Healthcare discussions started a month after his inauguration so could you elaborate on that.
They were blocking him from day one.
They were the minority from day one and had no power to block him. Much like the Dems will be come January.
