When discussing war with Russia, remember this. Napoleon tried and failed. Hitler tried and failed. What's to say any of us will succeed?
Hi [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] we gonna wreck russia shit i tell ya [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline]
The part I like is almost no one I know even knows about anything even happening in Ukraine.
Yeah, I've noticed most western media are keeping pretty quiet about it, while over here in Poland it's Ukraine 24/7.
They give it about a 5 second blurb on the evening news, like "oh by the way some things happened in the Ukraine, and now for commercials"
Australian media are paying close attention to it, it's been a pretty discussed thing around here, nobody likes the thought of a war breaking out over this and wish Russia just stopped fucking about
When discussing war with Russia, remember this. Napoleon tried and failed. Hitler tried and failed. What's to say any of us will succeed?
Napoleon and Hitler were both overconfident idiots who didn't think about the logistical issues involved with invading a bigass country such as Russia [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] Hitler also ended up being overextended on multiple fronts and of course they both got fucked over by the weather
That's the one. Again, couldn't remember the name.
Dunno bout you but I don't think this'll have it's own chapter in the history books like the Cuban Missile Crisis, since you know, no one in Ukraine is threatening to launch a fusillade of nuclear warheads.
Now's your chance Korea! Strike or wave your dick when everyone is looking to Russia!

if the US are more than happy to tread all over countries and influence their decisions (julius assange, etc) can cause random shit or whatever being "world police", then they'd better be prepared to help us if anything becomes of this. They've got one of the largest armies in the world to be fair.
We signed a damn treaty to protect them. Guess what, they need protecting now. Are we going to be "that country" and worm our way out of fulfilling our obligations?
Yeah, but America only intervenes in countries with shitty militaries so we can stroke our egos after crushing a nation's impressive array of Cold War-era military hardware, and Russia's scary so we don't wanna fight 'em. :CCCCC
Maybe Germany, Italy, France, and Britain should do something. Why would you want the imperialist corporate-controlled, warmongering U.S. to do anything? Have the great nations of Sweden and Norway stop the Russians. We're half way around the world.
hilarious this is literally the approach of a sulking child basically america, sit back and do nothing on the back of "it's not our problem", and you basically admit that the only intervention you'll undertake is one that is against brown people who don't stand a chance
When discussing war with Russia, remember this. Napoleon tried and failed. Hitler tried and failed. What's to say any of us will succeed?
Nobody's marching on Moscow. Secondly, To Hitler's credit, if it weren't for already fighting the rest of the fucking world as well as Russia, he would have for sure succeeded. Russia was grasping at so many straws on their own homeland that if not for Germany's war with *everyone* else, Russia would have fallen
the thought of world leaders just talking on the phone like that is kinda funny to me for some reason
hilarious this is literally the approach of a sulking child basically america, sit back and do nothing on the back of "it's not our problem", and you basically admit that the only intervention you'll undertake is one that is against brown people who don't stand a chance
The combined forces of most European countries both outnumber and outperform the U.S. Military, and are closer to the conflict that anything we have. I'm serious, the German and Polish militarized alone would give Russia a run for its money. A coalition of them with France and Britain could easily both intimidate and defeat any Russian aggression. You imply that I support the intervention in the Middle East. Also, I'd like to see a list if countries that France, Britain and Poland have fought recently. Oh wait, it's the same roster as the U.S. (except France, which fought in Mali)

[editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] holy fucking shit are you seriously blaming America for the holocaust
Double standards man.
Accusing a potential rival and potential ally of violating international law is dangerous to say the least. It could spark new tensions between the US and Russia.
Quit the ad-hominem and personal jabs, why don't you.
no, because if you cannot tell the difference between a conflict over a country's leadership, and an invasion of a country in a continent that has previously been devastated by war, and has ENORMOUS ramifications for global politics, then you are being wilfully ignorant. or do you want to just use the fact that you got involved in a load of stupid shit and got burned by it as an excuse for inaction again the fact that I'm having to explain the difference between what was happening in Syria and the potential invasion of a sovereign nation by russia suggests you are just thick
yes, that's exactly what I'm doing get your knee looked at for that jerk you just gave it
Top KEK. You do realize that the United States was founded with an isolationist foreign policy right? That means that we'd rather not jump into shit (military-wise) that doesn't involve us, we still supplied plenty of monetary and supply based aid to our allies. We only entered the war because we were attacked by Japan and shit went completely tits-up in Europe. Just because the united states can intervene doesn't mean they should, especially if Europe is content to sit around with their thumbs up their asses because they're too weak to put up a real fight. How about you guys talk the helm on this one and we'll back you up.

So basically they just did the same thing. It's like comparing my right hand to my left.

Go poles! also remember my bantering on nuclear war? I swear Obama almost went Cosby on us for a minute.
Huh. Well that's a first. Go poles!
It's not a first. Russia has been successfully invaded and even dominated many times. The Swedes did it, the Poles did it, the Germans did it. The whole "Russia can never be invaded" thing is a dumb trope that's just wrong.

The whole "Russia can never be invaded" thing is a dumb trope that's just wrong.
It sure can be invaded. It was only ever really invaded by Chengis Khan and his descendants. After them we grew some steel balls. However the steel balls are a myth. It's just that Russia is so big and well strategically located that Russian military can retreat as far as it wants, can't really be cut off from supply. The invader is on the other side easily exposed to getting encircled, terrorised and cut from supply. However I should not that the war changed. If US was to ever fight Russia they would just aim to destroy the infrastructure, spread unrest and wait for Russia to collapse by itself. As it was already said nobody is marching for Moscow. So Russia can be invaded, but it's a really hard thing to do. [editline]3rd March 2014[/editline]
Poland was the only one to take the Moscow however. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish%E2%80%93Muscovite_War_(1605%E2%80%9318)
Napoleon took Moscow too. It was burned though so his soldiers had to eat rats.
Napoleon took Moscow too. It was burned though so his soldiers had to eat rats.
But there is a distinct difference between "Actually taking the city" and "Giving the enemy a burned down rat infested crap pile."
Hence that's why Napoleon failed taking the city and it does not count.
On a side note, how fucking different would the world be if Poland was able to create that union between them and Russia? Man that shit would be insane if it worked out.
They give it about a 5 second blurb on the evening news, like "oh by the way some things happened in the Ukraine, and now for commercials"
Everybody is more concerned with the Kardashians or some shit. A possible international war doesn't even sell on the nightly news anymore.
