Andrew Johnson would be happy to know that ultimately he won't go down in history as America's worst president ever
Texas has accepted Mexico's offer this morning.
So can congress or w/e go behind Trump's back and accept Mexico's offer anyway?
The state of Texas doesn't need the federal government to hold our hand. We can accept assistance from whoever we want. I think Trump would have to actively deny the assistance. But we have already accepted it.
Wouldn't it be hilarious if Texas actually voted blue next election because of how disgusted they were by this degenerate?

Extremely unlikely.

Should note that Houston and other major cities in Texas already are blue. I don't see why the rural voters would change their mind because of the storm.

Humans (esp Republicans) are very bad at recognizing the consequences of their actions over long periods of time.
At least there'll be lots and lots of embarrassing footage to use for the "America's Worst President" exhibit in future museums
If Trump runs again, I just want every single debate have a big screen in the background.
With a dedicated factchecking team in control of it.
In every debate:
"I was never even slightly for the Iraq war" - they show the video of him being for the Iraq war.
"I never said I would release my tax returns if I got past the primaries" - show the video of him saying he would.
"I ended the birth certificate thing" - show evidence he didn't
"I was never a fan of Hillary Clinton" - show videos of him openly praising both Clintons
"I have always been pro-life" - show video of him being pro-choice.
It's such a huge opportunity that won't ever be taken...

All he has to do is say the "Fake News" media is taking clips of his out of context and people would eat it up. At this point, people have basically made up their mind if they like Trump and blindly accept everything he says, or if they hate him and/or want to hold him accountable.

The sad thing is that even if you put two clips LITERALLY one after the other where he says
"I am very pro life" - "I am very pro choice"
His cult of degenerates would suck it up.
It's legit 1984. If he told everyone that 2+2=5, they'd make themselves believe it.

He's still got Warring G. Harding to compete with anyway.

Literally a Cult of Personality.

Fact checking has had an inverse effect this election cycle.
Smart of mexico to offer at any rate. The aid would cost them a bit but it would make a lot of good-will and has the bonus of making trump look like a complete tit no matter what the outcome.
Trump Accepts: He loses credibility on his anti-mexico rhetoric, mexico gets brownie points with american populace.
Trump Refuses: Looks like a narcissist idiot who's too afraid to accept help

Or maybe they did the same thing in the past. Maybe it has nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with being a good neighbor.
Shouldn't even be his fucking decision, he's not one of the many suffering in Houston. Ask them instead

You can't sit there and honestly say with a straight face that people wouldn't have bitched about this decision no matter which one he made. You can't be THAT blind. They were either going to slam him for declining, or slam him for accepting aid, yet still wanting to build the wall.

Can say with a straight face that one is objectively worse however and, as a result, deserves a lot more bitching. One is born from frustration; the other is born from a horrifying position that asks big questions that have even more potentially worrying answers.
If Yellowstone's supervolcano exploded right now would Trump refuse aid from other countries even if he knew there's no chance in hell for America to recover on its own - that it would kill hundreds of thousands or even millions and possibly hurl us into an enormous economic, political, and 'greatness' death spiral - all because his pride demands it? We couldn't ask this question so easily before now - but now that he's refusing aid from another country simply out of spite - I think we can. The question has been brought up: At what point is Trump able to put aside his pride to provide for America? It's a worrying question to even have - and beggars an entire range of bitching all its own.

Why does that matter when people are fearing for their lives in Houston?
