GTA modding nowadays sucks too, it isn't original like in San Andreas with Myriad Islands and that alien city thing. It's literally either map conversions from past GTA games, car conversions, or script tweaks. Good riddance, l'm sad to say.
That's because with each new game modding becomes harder and harder to do.
can i get a refund if i bought it from gmg?
it would only hurt gmg's wallet send a message directly to T2 demanding a refund, not just over removing the gamemode, make a point they're destroying the developer's life just to make a point on their bottom line
isn't this like the 4th thread on this? Are they actually doing it this time?
Funny thing is, it takes little to no effort to do these money hacks. It is seriously a google search away and a friend of mine who is a long time GTA Online player has been using the same build of his cheat program for about 6 months now.
I've never used a cheat / mod and have about 80mil of illegitimate money in game, it was given to me months ago and I still have it. If I can get that much money without even trying to why would anyone pay real money for a shark card?
Anybody who's played MTA knows just what we'll be missing out on, or what T2 is denying us. On the subject of custom maps, VC and LC (gta3) have already been ported over (although FiveM didn't support LOD's yet). There was progress on porting over Liberty City from IV as well. In addition to losing something I've been extremely hyped over, I feel really bad for NTAuthority who's put a lot of work into FiveM. Not sure when the work started on this, but I've been following his very frequent commits on github for almost a year now.
isn't this like the 4th thread on this? Are they actually doing it this time?
No it's not the 4th. There's also been a significant development every time a thread has been made. You can read the OP, can you?
So we got confirmation of Take 2 suing... yeah they realized 5M was MIT license and they couldn't shut it down all the way.
isn't this like the 4th thread on this? Are they actually doing it this time?
I'm not sure, but if so it's probably because the first thread was about private investigators with phones, second was another GTA V multiplayer project getting shut down (GTA:MP), third was probably private investigators with C&D orders and finally fourth the project gets shut down and devs sued. [editline]11th December 2015[/editline]
Huh? A cease and desist letter generally means "stop this or we'll sue". Did the devs go on to fight it?
C&D came last week or the week before and they ignored it (Although one of the other lead developers signed it and quit the project)
By the way, I'm currently grabbing a copy of everything on tohjo.eu just in case - however I believe a significant portion of FiveM has already been removed from there (and it didn't have the full FiveM source in the first place), and this lacks all the GitLab fluff (issue tracker etc). Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Is there any way to get a refund at all? I am done with T2, Rockstar and any other games by them. Shame about Mafia.
I have a feeling once Rockstar is finally done adding content to GTA Online, modders will be able to do more stuff. Just gotta give it time, I guess.
If i got to refund any game that i own where i think that it went bad/wrong i would be rich...
Is there any way to get a refund at all? I am done with T2, Rockstar and any other games by them. Shame about Mafia.
Why do you think you're entitled to a refund because you no longer like the publisher and after you've been playing the game for what I assume is a significant amount of time?
I have a feeling once Rockstar is finally done adding content to GTA Online, modders will be able to do more stuff. Just gotta give it time, I guess.
Sadly it appears to be too late for FiveM, the dev's will probably be faced with an injunction forbidding them to modify all TakeTwo/R* titles. Hopefully somewhere down the line (Maybe when GTA6 releases) take two will stop giving a shit about sharkcards on GTA V and let people create a multiplayer everyone wants.
sigh There goes my hope.

Unless you never play the game anyway. It would actually be really fucking stupid for people to uninstall/remove their game just because Take Two ruined it for some, Rockstar poured literally millions of dollars into this and you can see in the game that they also spent a huge amount of time and love to crafting this wonderful game plus they are still releasing new multiplayer content on a regular basis. Uninstalling the game or asking for refunds is not going to help. Emailing take-two would be the best course of action or more publicity to what they have done.
The studio is under contract. If they leave then they give up the rights to GTA and all of their other games. Not a good idea.
I dunno, I'd buy an open world game from ex Grand Theft Auto developers. The problem is them going to Bethesda, these are two different types of open world.
Why do all the best games have the worst publishers
I've been playing GTA since it launched back in 2013, and I would say I definitely got my money's worth and more. I think the whole time I've been playing, I only bought shark cards maybe twice, and that was because they were on sale.

I still have some hope so I'll resort to signing petitions/sending emails and generally doing whatever it takes to expose T2. I've quit playing the "vanilla" MP after meeting one too many hackers there. They steal your shit, they crash you, get YOU banned for it, spam objects, blow everything up, and are just the worst no-fun hackers. I see no reason to have this piece of shit waste over 60 gigs atm to be honest.
how would that work though? i gave the money to gmg, not t2
The point is, T2 won't care if you refund on gmg, only gmg will be hurt by that at this point.
Fucking. I was just about to download that mod. i wanted to play with friends on private servers. thanks for ruining my day T2. i made a horrible mistake buying this game twice...

Beyond all of the incredible details and stuff, I only got a few really fun moments and none of them were from gun fights or driving, the main chunk of the game. Not to mention that the cars are a lot more arcade-ish than IV. Even though its still years away, I might not buy GTA VI should this behavior out of Take Two continue.
Ha, I'm glad I never fucking bought GTA V now.
Ha, I'm glad I never fucking bought GTA V now.
I was waiting to upgrade my computer before getting it/waiting to see if they fix the horrible online system.
IV was like sliding a lead block on ice, V was a vast improvement
Regardless I had more fun with IV than V for some reason.
IV was like sliding a lead block on ice, I feel like V was a vast improvement arcadeish or not
Only problem with IV was the huge body roll on the cars, grip was fine
Only problem with IV was the huge body roll on the cars, grip was fine
The body-roll was actually pretty fun sometimes. If you watch old car tests from the late 60s and early 70s, the things were almost scratching the road! Considering most of the cars were from the mid 80s to late 90s, its still somewhat believable. [editline]11th December 2015[/editline] Frankly, the cars in GTA V remind me of L.A. Noire and that's not a compliment.
Only problem with IV was the huge body roll on the cars, grip was fine
Relative to V and the previous 3D installations the grip was drastically different, was my only quip but it wasn't even a big deal tbh [editline]11th December 2015[/editline]
Regardless I had more fun with IV than V for some reason.
Absolutely more fun [editline]11th December 2015[/editline]
Frankly, the cars in GTA V remind me of L.A.
