Hey I mean if he wants to live the vidyagame zombie survival fantasy life innawoods go ahead and let 'im. I'm sure that it'll be tons of fun dealing with the constant threat of starvation! Nothing like a few days without food to make a can of beans seem like a gift from god.
Lmao, remember that wave of "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE MADE FUN OF US FOR VOTING FOR TRUMP LOOK WHERE IT GOT YOU!" And yet now we've got republicans practically crayon-scrawling legislation and people who're like "Well at least I can give up the security of society in order to ride out the ensuing shitstorm!"
Truly the initial mockery wasn't enough. A voting bloc full of adults with the reasoning skills of children. Good luck to my fellow Americans, I'm skipping this country the moment it becomes reasonable to do so before a civil war breaks out because the republicans don't get their tendies or something stupid like that.
I wish I could afford to move to another country.
My conservative friends have this attitude that if I "love" the other "socialist" countries like Finland and such so much I should just pack up and move there, completely ignoring the fact that moving within this country is expensive, let alone moving abroad.
I vote for issues that immediately concern myself at that point in time, nothing else.
As already stated, I voted mostly for Democrat-NPL and Libertarians. I usually vote for Democrat senators and representatives.
So why are guns more important than anything else?

goodness gracious what a selfish, irresponsible, and short sighted world view :disgust:
i honestly hope you reconsider

this is almost the literal exact wording people use when they're trying to be satrical of single issue voters. this is not a thing you should be proud of
i mean you have to realize that even just the production and sale of firearms is still dependant on a functioning society and economy
If healthcare isn't a concern to you, because it's been a national concern since before the election, then your priorities are messed up. You're a selfish individual.

Facepunch is always complaining people vote against their self interests, yet when someone says they did, all hell breaks loose :v:
I hope you can swim, GOP, cause you've heralded a blue wave like you've never seen before

Kind of backward, don't you think?
Democratic representatives are more likely to introduce gun bans than a Democratic president

Doubtful it's going to be as massive as everyone thinks. The GOP will likely have a sizable control of at least the House of Reps next year.
For one, there's gerrymandering.
For second, there's the fact that passing major bills through congress shows uneducated people (who are the vast, vast majority of voters) that this Congress got something done and should go back.
For another, for the same reason as #2, people are going to hear "tax cuts" and think it applies to themselves without looking up any factual evidence contrary to that. That means, in their eyes, Congress just saved them some money for themselves despite the opposite being true.
There is a fuckin reason why the GOP are constantly voted back into office year after year, decade after decade.

Are you seriously this dense or just trolling?

He made it fairly evident that health care and all that other stuff was just irrelevant to his interests at the time and he voted on what was.
Surprise, surprise this is how democracy works?
I agree what he prioritized was pretty stupid but I don't think that him voting on what he had as a priority was dumb.
I vote for issues that immediately concern myself at that point in time, nothing else.
And doing so effectively makes you want to exile yourself in the woods today. Like was it a winning move in retrospect ?
Facepunch is always complaining people vote against their self interests, yet when someone says they did, all hell breaks loose :v:
I think its all self interest motivated, just a difference of priorities. Which is more important, conservative gun legislature or electing a government that isn't hell-bent on putting as much economic power as possible into the hands of corporations and the already wealthy at the cost of crushing the middle class?
I think its a simple issue - whether or not the government lets you buy guns in the first place is a moot point if in voting for it you've lost your economic flexibility to do so in the first place.
I do support voting in your self interest, but some people seem to ignore the bigger picture, it seems.
So people losing their healthcare, getting tax increases, fucking up the national deficit and budget are things that are in his self interest? If so then calling him a self individual is completely valid.
I mean Scorpius is right he did vote in his self interest. I think his self interest is fucking retarded and it's my right to say so but at least he knows what we wants I guess :pudge:
Statements like Joe's are why I will laugh and cry at America's obsession with guns.
Aren't there still differences in the House and Senate tax bills that need to be reconciled first?
He made it fairly evident that health care and all that other stuff was just irrelevant to his interests at the time and he voted on what was.
When people complain about those who vote against their self interest, they're not saying "vote for what matters to you personally right this instant". They're saying "don't vote for the group that quite openly want to remove things that would make your life better".
Y'know, as in, have some foresight rather than just thinking with your feelies/ guns and voting for someone because right now you're not ill/ a woman/ black so those problem don't impact you.
"I'm a single issue voter and I voted for Trump because he's pro Pepe the frog. If you need me I'll be applying for unemployment benefits after my boss fires me in order to inflate his bottom line."

well sorry for thinking that a "freedom"-loving militia fanboy might not want to be the living embodiment of tyranny of the majority, how silly of us to believe that all types of despotism could be equal

If gun rights trump things like healthcare for you, then you deserve all the mockery you get, regardless of your motivations.
And to be frank Trump has shown no interest in preserving gun rights or repealing redundant/unneeded legislation

Anyone who still supports Trump and the GOP at this point should be mocked.
