My dad has a surprising about of stuff invested. I think it's about 7% of what he currently has invested in a lot of stuff. He doesn't manage it, but he checks the market from time to time. He was bothered, but not really worried.

The Dow has been at this sort of low several times since the recession and subsequent recovery effort. It could still bounce back I hope; I'd really not like to see the double-dip recession turn into a self-fulfilling prediction.
