Simferopol Intl airport seized by dozens of armed men

I would say they do mostly because of Sevastopol. The Russian military has been losing ports in the Middle East left and right (what with the Syrian and Libyan conflicts boiling over), and they don't want the same thing happening with Ukraine.
The pictures are confusing me. One of them shows Russian KAMAZ military trucks and then the second photo shows a line of Ukrainian KRAZ military trucks.
If the photos are legit, it definitely shows some level of Russian involvement. The Ukrainian military does not use KAMAZ trucks, so the only way for a group of people to get them in Crimea would be for the Russian military to give them to them.

What are you even talking about. Of course the Ukrainian military uses KamAZ trucks, all post-soviet countries use the same vehicles

My mistake, I read that the Kamaz 4350 entered service in 2003 in Russia and assumed it had replaced the Ural line of trucks. In reality the Kamaz 4310 entered service in 1980 and was widely used in the Soviet military, so it's completely possible that the ones in those photos(if the photos are even legit) are just ones that people pulled out of a mothball yard.

Yeah I am beginning to see a pattern here. I mean come on, Russia would love those warm ports and fertile farm lands.

I wish there were not blurry pictures so we could see if these guys are legit Russian military or just paramilitaries.

That's a lot of articles, yet neither of them proves that Russia is invading Crimea. The ships arrived because there's a Russian naval base in Crimea, the guys planting the flag, again, could be anyone. Yanukovich being in Russia literally has nothing to do with anything
The equipment could come from anywhere, there was like a dozen of military warehouses robbed during the riots
Not to mention you can buy pretty much any military's uniforms and then make all the insignia to match it.
Do they?
Crimea has always been coveted by the Russians. Historically, it was one of the only ways they could trade by sea, mostly in grain. Not sure how true this is anymore, but im sure it's still important.

Russia has made barely any claims to Crimea in the last 20 years
Hopefully if the new government can gather enough authority while simultaneously discrediting the former president with the documents that were found, Crimea will calm its shit a little bit before their undoubtedly fair and unrigged May referendum.
Ukraine is going to pull a yugoslavia and split. Source: My ukrainian born friend who called himself russian years before all this revolution stuff started. Also, most of ukraine's heavy industries are in the east and the western pro europe parts are going to be in trouble if they actually split up.

So what you're saying is, despite lots of evidence pointing to the highly probable, you won't settle for anything less than Russia coming out and saying,
"Yeah this was totally us."
Albeit accurate, I think we're well off enough to assume that on our own.
BBC says that they are "patrolling" the airport and that the airport is still operating as normal. Doesnt really seem like a seizure to me.

It was not immediately clear who the men were, nor the reason for their presence at the airport.
Witnesses told Interfax-Ukraine news agency earlier that around 50 men had arrived at the airport carrying Russian navy flags.
The airport was said to be operating as normal.
A man called Vladimir told Reuters he was a volunteer helping the group, though he said he did not know where they came from.
"I'm with the People's Militia of Crimea. We're simple people, volunteers," he said.
"We're here at the airport to maintain order. We'll meet the planes with a nice smile - the airport is working as normal."
They control it. It's their property. These people are likely civil militia groups formed by local government.

Russia does not want Crimea, they want Ukraine. They are building 2 more bases on the black sea, one in Novorossiysk and one in Anapa. They have stopped upgrading Sevastopol and these bases will be able to support some ships by the end of the year.

There are different types/colours of 'digital flora', there is the desert pattern, the original digital flora pattern and now the newer version used on Russia's ACU inspired uniforms.
yeah. i know. not sure where youre going with that?
I'm thinking they got SOME of the equipment from the Russian Federation. But they are probably just militia men.

Mostly confirmed they are Russian troops.

How do they know that?
yeah, thats all current issue Russian VDV gear
Those pictures are from Simferopol, not Belbek international in Sevastopol. The Ukrainian authorities claim that Russia is helping to block off access to Sevastopol international, but they have only mentioned "armed men" in the region's capital. These men are wearing unmarked uniforms, there is no possible way to identify them at this moment as all of the vehicles used have been in possession of Ukraine since the fall of the Soviet Union.
So lets get this story straight, Ukraine never claimed that these men are Russian military. They're only claiming that the men in Sevastopol are Russian military.
It's probably Russian soldiers protecting a high value area.

Well like the article says they are monitoring and securing airports.
Armed men still at Simferopol airport,

Russia denies invasion
"No units of the Black Sea fleet were deployed in the area of Belbek nor did they take place in blockading it," a statement from the fleet's press service said.
But it said it had stepped up measures by its "anti-terror units" to protect areas where parts of the fleet were located in Crimea and the living quarters of service personnel and families "given the unstable situation".

Feb 28 (Reuters) - Russia's Black Sea Fleet said on Friday its forces had not seized or taken any other action at a military airport near Sevastopol, the port on Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula where the fleet is based, Interfax news agency reported.
"No Black Sea Fleet units have moved toward (the airport), let alone taking any part in blockading it," Interfax quoted a spokesman for the fleet as saying after Ukraine's interior minister said Russian forces had take control of two airports in Crimea.
Does the US or EU have any interest in Ukraine? If so will this become yet another proxy war?
