Hillary Clinton is the presumptive Democratic nominee
stupid analogy when its a winner take all system. its more akin to taking your cup of water, and pouring it on the ground instead of giving it to either clinton or trump, you're letting other people decide the election then
So then we're back to "I'm voting for candidate A because they're slightly less shit than candidate B".
Apply this logic 50 years ahead, and we will have absolutely abysmal candidates.
Me writing in Sanders sends a message that there is still a large portion of the population not being tapped. It does send a message.
i'm probably beating a dead horse then but by assuming clinton in such a tight race, you're leaving the door wide open for someone who wholly does not represent your interests to take the office, even clinton has her merits. i don't like her, but i'm not of the mind set that either candidate is a gun to the head like the extreme left and right have portrayed
Neither of them are "gun to the head" candidates. But one of them has far more scandal and distrust over the other, which any sane person over a year ago would have found to be asinine.
Good Christ we've been through this a million times before.
Vote for policies, not candidates. If you like Bernie's policies, or Jill Stein's, vote for them. Don't give me this "You must vote against Donald Trump" guilt-trip shit. If you don't agree with Trump OR Clinton, don't vote for either of them.
And please knock it off with the condescending "idiot, you're throwing away your vote" line. By using that line, you're signalling that you have automatically accepted the shittiness that is the two-party system. Don't want shitty choices? Get out and fight to change the system.
ya can fight against the system, but you can't change math. at the end of the day, only one candidate can achieve 270 electoral votes to win the WH, vote 3rd party for local, state, and even congressional races, but the WH is written to be a dichotomy. Getting 3rd parties into the local, state and congressional offices is much more achievable, and more productive.
-sNip- so far I can respect Liamaguy for sticking to his guns and not caving also a and b are both equally shit
Congrats you lying, cheating, shit-eating bitch. You're going to get your arse handed to you the moment you look at Trump and we are going to have an absolute clown in the Oval Office that will gut worker's rights and put our economy into a depression. I hope you're happy, Hilary. It is, after all, your turn.
I'm not gonna bother voting this year after all. Maybe in 2020 if Trump doesn't start World War Three before then.
I doubt that highly..
With Gary Johnson in the race stealing some GOP votes, a Trump presidency will be even less likely to happen.
i will say this, i think either one of these two would be the first president in modern times to have their party not re-nominate them when it comes time to re-elect them
i honestly can't see either one being more than a 1 term president. next election, the progressives are going to be storming the polls to get her out, and by some unfortunate circumstance, if trump were in office, the republicans would nominate literally anyone else given the chance

This is what I really don't like about a lot of Bernie supporters. Now that Bernie has pretty much lost the election you are resorting to insulting Clinton rather than admitting Bernie fairly lost, and I'm honestly not surprised there's a sexual insult in there too.
And also now you're threatening to not even vote at all, you might as well be saying 'fuck you' to all of the Democrat candidates who will be simultaneously running for Congress, local and state elections. Don't be so damn childish man. Or rather, boy.
As much as I want Sanders to get the nomination, realistically and unfortunately it's going to be a Hilary Clinton vs. Donald Trump election this presidential election season. Which if this ends up being the case then the next 4 to 8 years for the U.S. is going to be nightmarish.

As soon as the DNC convention in July is over with, I will admit Bernie lost. If he hasn't given up after 30 years, the least I can do is fight for another 35 days.
Agreed with your sentiment about insulting Clinton, however. Won't call her a bitch, but she's an absolutely shit candidate.
:suicide:
If you can't in good conscience support either candidate, then by all means, write in Sanders, or anybody else. Voting for a lost cause is better than not voting at all.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm considering. Not because I love bronze and shitty hair. But I don't really give enough of a shit for this election anymore. I don't like both, I don't expect much from both. Might as well.
If you really don't care, then just don't vote. Why go out of your way to vote just for shits and giggles?
If you really don't care, then just don't vote. Why go out of your way to vote just for shits and giggles?
Because if you've ever voted before you'd know that the President isn't the only name on the ballot, there are other positions in Congress up for reelection. Many first time voters are not aware of this.

What is it with the word "clinched"? It sounds like some dirty american word like cunt, I've never heard it before this month.
Voting 3rd party during president election; fuck this shit.

I know, but you can still vote for a fringe candidate in protest, or a third-party candidate of your choosing. I don't know if I really expect someone who says that they just don't care to care about the down-ballot stuff, anyway.
If you don't care, it just seems irresponsible to me to cast your vote for a major candidate just because.

Voting Trump during presidential election.
Way to go DNC for fielding the most corrupt democrat they could find.

Well its origins come from 16th century English.
Bernie is not a good politician. He doesn't know how to smear his opponent and take every opportunity to score points. I don't care if that's not how it should be. I don't care that Bernie is more honest. That doesn't win you elections, and he was a shit politician this primary.

If politics are just a "Who's the biggest cockhead?" contest there's something very wrong with this country.

Like I said. It doesn't matter that its not how things should be. But this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
It doesn't really matter at this point if it is possible for Bernie to win the nomination or not. That is beside the point. The nomination has not been clinched and should not be reported that it has. The media is absolute garbage.
Could someone clarify for me here in California. Will Sanders be on the electoral form or no? If not and I write in Sanders, does that still count as a Sanders vote?

No and yes.

He will be on the ballot.

He is on democratic ballots and democratic crossover* ballots. Write-ins don't do anything, iirc.
(*crossover ballots are for people registered as No Party Preference.)

yes and yes. the primary is still going to be held, just like the republicans
Greed has destroyed civilizations repeatedly throughout history and America is so, so clearly on that same trajectory it's pathetic. Once we're all just straight fucked I hope the DNC will look upon their money-oriented shortsightedness and feel regret, that's all I can really hope for anymore seeing as how Bernie is kind of fucked.
