Hillary Clinton is the presumptive Democratic nominee
Bernie has been very poor at getting people in politics behind him even after 30 years. Obviously there are politicians with similar ideals but he ends up pissing them off because he accuses everyone of being corrupt, Barney Frank pointed it out in 1991. That is the type of behaviour I don't want spreading because it hurts more than it helps. You are correct he has told supporters to stay involved in politics but the campaign's tactics are going the mean his endorsement of Hillary is gonna hit supporters like a truck and piss them off. The trust and devotion cultivated by the campaign is going to be completely destroyed they will have barely anyone to turn to when everyone is tarnished as "establishment". I don't believe he set out to have that effect but the blame would still rest mostly on his shoulders due to how he has championed idealogical purity.
I don't mean to simplify your point down to a single statement, but reading what you're saying I just get the impression that there's nothing wrong with the status quo or the system that elects people despite the fact it's failing the average person in several ways?
When your conspiracy theory starts getting that convoluted with no evidence it starts losing credibility. This is the damage I worried that Bernie would do, making young, politically naive people go down embarrassing routes of thought to justify all the claims of shenanigans. I hope most of you can come down from it and realise the best strategy to get your way isn't to act like Bernie but to "play the game" and make connections, support like minded candidates and not abandon politics after the GE.
Even as a conservative leaning person I would rather everyone's voice be heard and the indoctrination of idiocy by the Sanders campaign is just castrating you guys politically.
Except there is evidence, you're just choosing not to see it as part of your confirmation bias.
I hope the writers are at the top of the game for the season finale of Primaries
oh yeah man
the demographics that vote for sanders are definitely the ones that get suppressed
clinton definitely didnt get a 24/7 smear campaign on fox news starting the day obama got in office because everyone knew 2016 was happening
sanders definitely did NOT lose because his policies are fucking garbage and he is a total extremist no one wants in office
Yeah the entirety of Scandinavia is basically engulfed in flames right now.
As someone who has tried his best to get Bernie to win in my state via discussions, speeches against Trump, and voting myself, I tried and Clinton still won. Think of the dominating senior population in Maryland that would be fucked over by Sanders. All I can say to Bernie supporters now is don't throw away your votes. Especially to Trump. It's childish to think that since Bernie's not going to win doesn't mean you should vote for a huge child in the primaries. Trump stating that he should go against Bernie is what he wants; saying that doesn't automatically mean he respects him, he just wants him to beat Hillary so he can mop Bernie where it counts. the best options should Bernie not make it in the final voting process, the best this country can do sadly, is Hillary. For what he has said about people with Autism and how shots should be optional, opening our kids up to more diseases and allergies, I'd rather be beat up in a ally or be waterboarded in piss than vote for Trump.

Vote third party so that they have to be acknowledged next election. That's what you should do. Don't vote for the corrupt fuck, that only perpetuates the corruption more.
PS it's [ media ] [ /media]

The system is failing in some ways and the most effective way to change it is to work with the politicians in the establishment and get as many tweaks and tinkers you can in conjunction with the next generation of politicians (these include the ones you vigorously support because they hold similar views) comes into positions and suddenly 1 out of 100 becomes 5, then 10 etc.
Of course most candidates who will want to change the system wont hold all the same views so a degree of tolerance is needed. Maybe a sceptical view on climate change is acceptable as long as the candidate wants campaign finance reform and better worker rights. Obviously I much prefer the long game, I can see the allure in wanting rapid change but the difficulty in achieving it correctly is too risky imo.
Basically hitting the machine with a hammer isn't going to fix it, replacing the broken parts one by one is the way to go. Of course the rest of the American people have a say but the few people paying attention in the midterms are better represented than the masses paying attention only in the general election.

What is the evidence? A image URL? Why not point out Soros is funding her and he tilts the scales as much as the Koch Brothers ever do. At least there is a clear history of his fuckery and him funding her.
Preview of tonight, Clinton and surrogates will apparently extend an olive branch, mention that it's almost 8 years to the day since she endorsed Obama HINT HINT HINT, and they won't directly call for Sanders to drop out

I don't care where the money is coming from, she should not be beholden to millionaires and billionaires. I don't care if the nicest, most liberal and progressive guy in the world is donating millions to her, she should be beholden to her voter and not her donors.

They get pissed off when Bernie accuses them of being corrupt because they are corrupt.
And Bernie has consistently told his supporters that while he would obviously support Clinton over Trump, Clinton needs to reach out to Sanders' supporters and discuss what she will do for them, which is a completely reasonable standpoint.
Even though there is meaningful differences, This is really playing out like 2008.

Well, just voted for Bernie in California. I guess it doesn't matter that much, but oh well. It doesn't hurt. The down-ballot stuff is pretty important too, I hope those of you voting today didn't forget to research your candidates.
Where's the thread for the California primaries yo?
why don't you do it then? hmm?
Where's the thread for the California primaries yo?
There isn't one, most of facepunch stopped caring about politics when Bernie fell so behind. Hasn't been a single thread title with his name in it last few weeks.
AP didn't even cite who the superdelegates were that put her over the top, or even how many it was exactly. Terrible journalism.

They're remaining anonymous on purpose.
They're remaining anonymous on purpose.
Yeah, but why? Surely if you are a superdelegate who has decided to support Clinton you would publicly say so? If you are going to be the decisive person raising your hand to put Clinton over the top then raise your hand and say who you are, especially if AP is then going to take that information and declare her the nominee literally at 8pm on Monday night right before the primaries.
