that's like if I quote the line about Griffin being albino in the Invisible Man and saY "OBVIOUSLY THIS MEANS HG WELLS HATED ALBINOS AND MURDERED THEM SECRETLY"
yes, it's an opinion of mine, but there's no fucking factual backing, it's an interpretation i have taken from literature that could be taken a multitude of other ways.

Sex Ed in my school was taught fairly well and it was distributed from the 6th grade all the way to the 8th I think. I do remember one time in the 7th grade, where our sex ed teacher told us to write our questions regarding sex on cards and then put it on her table. She also told us not to write our names on it as it would be anonymous. After, she would read the cards out loud and try her best to answer the questions.
The only problem was that most of the class purposefully asked silly/retarded questions and then added someone's else name on the card. E.g. "I have a small penis and I really want to suck myself off. Is there a solution to my predicament? -Daniel"

Classic, love it.
god i bet that guy a while back who was all obsessive about Anne Frank is just poppin all kinds of boners about this
If they're that upset, just omit the 'distasteful' parts. I mean, no-one's reading Anne Frank for her journey into discovering her own body - teach the parts relevant to the subject it's supplementing. That said, of course, the book as a whole is an incredibly important piece of literature and to censor it in any way really is quite abhorrent - and, of course, omitting anything detracts from the whole experience.

dude stop it
you're actually being a bigger dick than anyone else is in this thread, no joke, calm down and stop going around with your stupid vendetta and derailing interesting threads like this.
Noone cares who you don't like and I'm sure everyone here would rather have a think about these opinions then read about your problems with some user you've never even met in real life. This is not the first time I've seen you do it - can you please for the interest of everyone's enjoyment just stop being a child
I'd really like to get this thread back on topic because it's a fact that Anne frank realised around 1944 the historical value of her diary.
what are you stupid
she wants to be a public journalist sure but do all journalists publish their private diaries fuck no
how the hell did she know how significant her diary was historically after she died and why would a journalist put in stuff about her vagina for the public to read
oh thats right because it had no intention on being public
oh and btw just because you wouldn't write it in a diary doesnt mean anne frank wouldn't too
saying that you'd supply 'additional information that you'd never write in a diary' is just opinion
Around 1944 she heard a radio broadcast talking about the value of simple correspondence from a Dutch Minister who said:
"History cannot be written on the basis of official decisions and documents alone. If our descendants are to understand fully what we as a nation have had to endure and overcome during these years, then what we really need are ordinary documents -- a diary, letters from a worker in Germany, a collection of sermons given by a parson or priest. Not until we succeed in bringing together vast quantities of this simple, everyday material will the picture of our struggle for freedom be painted in its full depth and glory."
After this she began to realise its worth as a piece of historical evidence and began to supplement it and previous entries with additional information and edit the pseudonyms found in it. She did see its value as a piece of historical evidence and thus, while not originally having the intention of it being public, amended it later with the idea that eventually she would use the diary for these purposes, thus putting stuff in it that would not normally be put in her diary by her.
"how the hell did she know how significant her diary was historically after she died" betrays ignorance about how history works - the most common things become the most important. People are pretty aware of this you know.
So yeah sorry its not just some funny thing she wrote down expecting noone would see it, by the end of the war she knew full well that she intended it to be released
who doesn't have a wank to anne frank's diary every now and again
i hate the times we're living in.
I hope to god in a few years they are not taking out Nazis from the book, because "kids don't need to learn something too graphic".
The holocaust: it's necessary for our children to learn about the horrific systemic slaughter of millions of people.
Human reproductive physiology: Get that sick, disgusting stuff away from them. They can learn that when they're...30 or something.
i hate the times we're living in.
well hey at least it's better than getting raped to death in Nanking or stabbed in the belly during the Crusades
well hey at least it's better than getting raped to death in Nanking or stabbed in the belly during the Crusades
At least I'll know Altair will be out there.
Or I would be stabbed by Altair.
Anyone remember the thread with the guy who was obsessed with Anne Frank? He posted fake nudes and such, it was really weird.
The diary isn't pornographic in any way, shape or form. Anne only described in her diary how interested she was in the way her body was changing and that she used to have feelings for one of her female friends. Aren't ALL middle-schoolers interested in sex, puberty and the way their bodies are changing by that age anyway? That's what confuses me.

anne frank died in concentration camp before the war ended
Amazing that anatomical information is kept from people underage.
You can't let kids find out about their bodies!

Here's the quote if anybody's curious about that.
Once when I was spending the night at Jacque's, I could no longer restrain my curiosity about her body, which she'd always hidden from me and which I'd never seen. I asked her whether, as proof of our friendship, we could touch each other's breasts. Jacque refused. I also had a terrible desire to kiss her, which I did. Every time I see a female nude, such as the Venus in my art history book, I go into ecstasy. Sometimes I find them so exquisite I have to struggle to hold back my tears. If only I had a girlfriend!
I wonder if any religiously strict people get angry about that part.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it was the religious nutters that got offended or angry at that part. All I would have to say is.... If they get angry or offended by any of her writings, then don't read it then? :v:
Why was the first thing that popped into my head that goddamn fanfic of Anne Frank and Goku fighting Hitler as a Super Aryan?
Maybe that should be published!
2lewd

Well I guess they would get angry/offended by that and won't read it. The problem that might come out is when they think nobody should read it.

i don't. waste of £6. didn't help me survive Typhus and malnutrition in the least.

Hot.
are you an expert on anne frank? did you get a degree in literature then study her book expertly and informedly using known fact about her?
no?
then your opinion is just that. a conjectural opinion.
You really shouldn't pull the "ARE U AN EXPERT????" card unless you yourself actually are an expert on the subject.
Maybe I've just been watching the wrong porn and learned nothing in sex ed but that first excerpt someone quoted about vaginy layers was news to me.
Maybe I've just been watching the wrong porn and learned nothing in sex ed but that first excerpt someone quoted about vaginy layers was news to me.
In porn people are generally turned on, so the labia minora is visible at all times pretty much. When the person isn't turned on, it's covered by the labia majora. There's picture examples on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labia_majora
anne frank died in concentration camp before the war ended
That's probably why he didn't say "after the war" then.
