They only cut out the clone war era so they didn't have to bother with droids, don't pretend otherwise.
When people say "Oh it's just going to be battlefield with star wars", they mean it is literally just going to play like a modern battlefield game with star wars skins.
This is not what most people want from a game based in a scifi universe with hover bikes, plasma/laser guns, light-sabers and all the other crazy stuff star wars has to play with.
Battlefront 1 and 2 were almost entirely battlefield clones down to even the bare mechanics like how movement felt. I'm fine with the 3rd game following in suit

Also you all have a poor grasp on marketing, the game isn't gonna have a massive marketing budget because it has all the hype it needs. Between nerds jizzong over 'omg battlefront 3' and the nearby Episode 7 attracting a newer age to star wars, the games gonna sell itself
even in third person, if you're that guy waiting at a corner, someone a ways down the wall can't angle their camera to see you, while you can see them. It's a flawed little mechanic that's hugely in favor of being used like an exploit.
It's one of the things that eventually put me off APB. A lot of player 'skill' in that game revolves around how well they can corner camp.
Good no goofy Battledroids. Clone Wars era has been dead ever since Grievous became a puss, Count Dooku had a escape plan every time he got his ass kicked, and the droids lost every battle.
Aww, but I liked playing as Droidekas.
Droids were the only really unique race out of the bunch.
I don't see why they couldn't have the option to switch to third person.
I like being able to use third person, one of my favorite features of the last two. I like being able to see myself.
What about using heroes? They were 3rd person only
Can't wait to pilot an AT-AT, run some muthafuckas off the road.

It will be exactly like Battlefield.

Battlefield!
I liked third person, but I admit you had some advantages while using it. I sorta did like all the goofy animation issues that'd happen in third person though that contributed to a certain charm that the game had.
