I feel sorry for Will Wright.
Guess I'm not buying this in the end. [sp]I might just give it a try with a cracked copy[/sp] (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - Lithifold))
I feel sorry for Will Wright.
He left ever since EA ruined Spore. Man, the potential that Spore had to be a great game.
Why not have a community made Simcity, exactly how we want it?
Someone BETTER fucking tell EA that this will be boycott by the gaming community if they put this shit in. Let's start something! What's the best site to start something on?
WHY
well there goes that, one of the only games i was actually hyped for come on ea
but said that if it becomes a problem they could briefly allow people to play offline while things get fixed
So why even bother having the always-on DRM in the first place? In saying that, they're practically just saying "Please crack our game because we designed it to be able to run without the DRM active anyway!". Fuuuck me.
Not surprising, seeing how it's EA.
It doesn't seem that bad, assuming the destroying cities bit is just speculation, and there will undoubtedly be an offline crack made. That being said though, I'll still make sure to hold off on getting it because of this. Read reviews or whatever when it comes out.
Gay. I like the idea of persistent world that every bodies cities are in. But the rest is BS
I don't get the point of always on DRM, I can kind of understand checking if it's got a valid key or such when the game first loads, but how could that change mid-way through the play session? It's not like you can pirate it while playing it.
fuck you EA
I'll still play it and enjoy it, but that doesn't mean I'll like having to use cracks and stuff.
EA- How could a horrible company like this FUCKING stand afloat?!
fuck you EA
Blizzard did worse than this, and I saw only one person bitching about Blizzard.
Why not have a community made Simcity, exactly how we want it?
I would buy this.
so players won't be able to gleefully destroy a city and then go back to an earlier save file as if nothing ever happened, for instance.
Simcity: Dark Souls Ed.
Wow EA are cunts
i always thought it was dumb when people were like DRM? FUCK THAT I'M NOT BUYING THIS NOW. But this is literally a huuuuuuuuuuge deal breaker. I spent most of my early years on a computer literally thinking sim city was a city destroying sim. I would make a basic city, have no idea how to properly water or fuel it then burn it down.
still buying it hehe
People are surprised? What the fuck!
Not surprising, seeing how it's EA.
Infact, now i see why they got the worst company of America award.
Infact, now i see why they got the worst company of America award.
if always online DRM is literally the worst crime committed by US corporations then i'm done being a progressive because the world is fucking perfect apparently
Seriously, can someone explain why it was apparently okay for Blizzard to do this with Diablo 3 but when EA does it they become public enemy number one. I'm honestly having issues finding the logic in that.

Fuck this shit.
For the love of god they already addressed this ages ago
you must be online in order to start playing. EA has confirmed that you will not be kicked out if your connection is interrupted.
http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/sim-city-5/1221798p1.html Basically its the same system as Tropico 4, login at start, play forever. Also before anyone thinks that this means they have gotten rid of single player, again that is wrong. http://www.livestream.com/electronicarts/video?clipId=pla_0454fe10-94ae-487e-b883-35565ab4ce93 At 7 minutes in the Maxis dev says:
Yeah, I definitely have that fear of playing with a lot of people right away. You can create a region and set it to public or private, you can invite friends or play by yourself. You can play multiple cities in that region or multiple regions. You can also do quickplay for easy multiplayer mode.
See single player, with multiple cities so if you don't want to play multiplayer you can avoid it and play Sim City like every other Sim City game.
people just want to whine about EA
But...but...Kotick!
people just want to whine about EA
They, in all seriousness, are a terrible company who manages to publish decent games.
