I like how we keep getting news articles straight from the source that say complete opposite things to other news articles straight from the source.
There've been many sources stating that there is always on DRM and you are restricted to one city, but at the same time a single gamespy source and a developer interview that says otherwise.
I'm wondering which ones are true and which ones are false.

Could it be because they don't care about it as much as other games, yes. Could it be because Maxis has a bad PR rep, yes. Could it be that Maxis/EA has yet to work out those details themselves, yes. It could be any of those things and more or even less or none!
My point I guess is we could be at a immovable pass till EA/Maxis flesh out what the game really is over the next few months. Until then we can A. continue to light our pitchforks and torches yelling the sky is falling. or B. Go in it with a set of open eyes and if it turns out the doomsayers were right, well shit.
I am going to stick with plan B but I have a funny feeling most will end up picking A and frankly in a way I can't really blame them.

Don't see why it needing a constant connection is really that big of a problem unless you're on wifi or something but the persistent world thing is dumb, i was always fun to build a gigantic city and once you've finally got bored of it watching it be destroyed by meteors and volcanos

I can see people with laptops having a problem with this and I don't have the most consistent of internets. Also the fact that they would go to such an extreme measure for anti piracy is angering.

I plan on being a games programmer and if EA offered me a job I would take it. Help I would take it over a job at Valve. EA isn't the greatest company in the world, but there are a lot of companies a lot worse than them.
