• EA manages to ruin Sim City

Brb killing self Seriously though, the reddit ama gave me so much hope because the devs seemed to actually want to make a good game. Maybe they lost sight of what Sim City is actually about? Why the hell did they add a full physics engine to the game for destruction if destruction will irreparably fuck you up? This means there won't be another Sim City game, because EA thinks that it wasn't shitty design but that the consumer base can't handle the entire genre. This fucking sucks.
Why the hell did they add a full physics engine to the game for destruction if destruction will irreparably fuck you up?
You can have more then one city. Single city is in multiplayer mode. The article in the OP fucked up.
EA should start releasing more information about this to prevent the rumor mongering. (Im blaming everything on EA, no matter what)
I waited so long for spore, I was so hyped.. When it got out, I don't know. What a disappointment it was. I still play it every once in a while tho, but just the creature part.
Spore sucked so much ass, and it could have been such an awesome game.
rip simcity fuck it isn't even out yet dammit EA
Looks like the pirated version will likely be superior as long as some modders get involved as well as crackers
Don't buy games from EA, if enough people join us we can see EA fall.
Thanks EA for giving me a reason to pirate it. At first I had remorse about it, but now? NOPE
I can never find the resoning beyond this, I mean they are making their games actually worse products then pirates. Disguarding the price, at the end of the day I'll be able to play the pirated copy offline and not with the legit copy. So why should I buy the game, then the pirated copy is a superior version. It's just... stupid.
Not entirely certain i can fully blame EA on this one. The game has been developed as a multiplayer online game only and not single player.
Day 1 DLC: Being able to Save your game
Jesus fucking christ! This is so god damn retarded! At least I've got one more reason to not to support EA.
Well, that's Sim City over, then. Always-on Internet connection to play? Multiplayer? Having to look after Sims? I preferred it back when it was just building a goddamn city! I've played all the Sim City games over the years and you know which one's my favourite? This one: It may not be as flashy as the rest, but by God, it gets the job done. I'd recommend Cities XL. They're moving in the right direction when it comes to city simulation games.
Who the hell wants to play sim city online? Come the fuck on.
Who the hell wants to play sim city online? Come the fuck on.
It's about the social aspect of it man! Facebook Myspace Youtube Google+, Social media is in man, singleplayer is out! Seriously, how many words between the word Social did they manage to go during E3? 6, 7?
I don't really have a problem with it so I still look forward to it and will still buy it.
Knowing EA Sim City 5's probably going to be as dumbed down as Sim City Societies anyway. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline] They are making it look like it's not but since EA is always trying to appeal to casuals I bet you anything they will.
Don't buy games from EA, if enough people join use we can see EA fall.
I would love to see that, but saddly theres too many consumers who doesn't care/know. Like middle aged parents buying games to their children.
EA is just fucked.

This game as single player with multiple cities. One city is only in Multiplayer. The Article in the OP is referring to Multiplayer.

Don't launch day problems require millions of fans trying to get into the game at launch day? Will five people really be much of a problem for EA?
Here's what you guys do. You buy it legally and then just crack it so that it doesn't need the servers. Dev's get money, you get what you want from it.
Sure but you would be sending them the message that always online drm is ok and they'll just keep doing it.

The Single city part is just for Multiplayer. Political gamer even said ti earlier in this thread. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1190152&p=36296557&viewfull=1#post36296557 I swear no-one ever looks up the facts anymore.
It's like FP users read the first five or six posts to get a general idea on what they're stance should be and then type out a response and hit that sweet sweet reply button without reading the rest of the thread.

Either way, I am getting this game, mainly because it looks cool, I want to see how multiplayer plays out, annnd I want to create that grand future city I got in mind, if possible. This thing wont't stop me.
I want to sue EA for supporting illegal activites. Cracking games increased by 80%
Welp, with ME3 released there's no other game EA can release that I'll want. Unless they announce Mirror's Edge 2, but that'll probably be crippled too.
Looked like a good game but now it doesn't seem like it's worth supporting.
thank christ I never got seriously excited for this game
