I wonder if insurance companies would pay up due to damage caused by it
It's probably covered under act of God/natural disaster along with earthquakes, land slides, etc.
Its not "Only in russia" anymore it seems.
I wonder if insurance companies would pay up due to damage caused by it
I can definitively say "nope".
I keep hearing that the meteorite or asteroid or whatever already passed earth and then right after it "Nope it's still coming" Which is true???
Russians must really not give a single solitary fuck, because if I saw a trail of smoke following a fast moving object suddenly appear to explode in the sky above me I would be in a ditch kissing my ass goodbye fast as fuck.
I keep hearing that the meteorite or asteroid or whatever already passed earth and then right after it "Nope it's still coming" Which is true???
Uh there was an asteroid passing within record distance of Earth today (50m diameter asteroid, about 27000 km away, which is closer that communications satellites) but it has passed that point now and is moving away from us It was never a threat in the first place, we knew that wouldn't hit us.
I do. It's not capable without at least a few minutes advance notice.
What if they did know about it a few minutes in advance? Russian authorities aren't exactly known for being candid about public safety issues.

Last summer, i was waiting at the bus stop at the next city of mine to get back home with a friends, it was about 11pm then suddenly i saw something in the sky, most likely a meteorite when it passed everything was bright like in the video, i could see where it landed, but when it landed, there was no vibration or sound, but i saw some red light around where it landed, i was stunned, but the weird part is that someone, another guy at the bus stop, said that he was at this right place yesterday of that event and he saw the same thing, there was no news about it.

I was a bit alarmed watching the Neil D Tyson video where he said it would be hours from when it was recorded. Pretty scary.

I looked up insurance that covers damage from space objects. The prices were sky high.
Christ. Russia is like a massive Twilight Zone. The Weekly World News is their morning newspaper.
