And that's a problem because?
Because every nation on this planet has immigration laws and a process to become a citizen of that country, people shouldn't be able to simply bypass that process because they can simply walk across the border, give the children citizenship, but have the parents fuck off, their kids didn't have a choice to come, they made a conscious decision to break the law It is not The United States fault Mexico is a shithole, it shouldn't be burdened with ~12 million foreign nationals on its soil simply because it can't secure one god damn border, they need to stay in the fucking country they were born in if they aren't willing to wait in line like everyone else has to Not only that, but this bill opens a window for any Mexican Citizen with a child(ren) born between 1992 and 1998 to simply hop over the border, enroll them in a school, and apply for the DREAM act
Maybe in the United States, we get plenty of anchor babies here. "My entire family was killed by Saddam Hussein's secret police, now I'm all alone in the world ;_;" 2 years later: "It's a miracle, all my extended family (43 in total) were alive in Germany and now they need citizenship and social security benefits!"
also above poster has never had such an experience and lives in a basement [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
I AM i havent had a job EVER and nobodys hireing i WOULD LOVE ANY$ i can get
Well I can't see why nobody would hire you. [editline]10th December 2010[/editline] God you people are such nationalist right wing mouth pieces
also above poster has never had such an experience and lives in a basement
Above poster contracted HIV from a barebacking party in Tel Aviv and posted that from a public library in Lagos, Nigeria where his main occupation is scavenging food out of landfills and spreading disease among the populace. See how easy it is to spout out groundless accusations?
This needs to be passed, but of course illegals are taking our jobs and selling drugs to our kids right?
Technically that's true, but it really has no effect. By "our" jobs I assume you mean American.
Illegal immigrants probably work a lot harder, and do a lot dirtier jobs than you ever will.
Illegals who gain citizenship? Out of eveyone of them who I have ever met or heard about, the first thing that they did was go on welfare.
i don't see why this is a problem, it's making it easier for illegal children (who often don't have a choice in coming here) to be a citizen if they've lived in the country for a while and graduated high school. we need to be making the citizenship process easier and suddenly illegal immigration will go down.
i dislike walking into any store/restaurant/auto shop and seeing a bazillion mexicans and not white people. i'm further exasperated by the fact that my friends can't get scholarships because they're all for mexicans. i shit you not, more than 70% you have to be mexican to qualify. they come here and sag their pants and spit and be little beaner fucks and they get everything. it's total bullshit. they should all be deported, not have a chance for citizenship.
Wow you are unbelievably racist and intolerant.

The children gain citizenship after completing high school, so it's not as easy as walking across the border. It still takes 5 years of living in the US (which is the regular amnesty time for legal citizens). Then after that the child gets citizenship. Then the parents need to file for citizenship under the Family Reunification clause of the immigration act of 1965, but to be eligible the American citizen needs to be 21 and living within 125% above the poverty line. So in reality this does nothing to aid the parents. Parents aren't going to cross the border and enroll their children and get immediate results. This really only benefits the children, and the parents that do this would have most likely been illegal immigrants anyway, DREAM or not. I do understand your concern though. I just don't see this changing anything with current legislature.
