I'd use it when I'm bored on the bus, otherwise no. I can access my mail and browse internet with my cellphone, that's enough.
I think apple missed the point that what makes the iPod Touch / iPhone so nice is that you can fit it in your pocket. Let's say I have an iPad, why not just bring my laptop instead so I can do everything the iPad can do but much better/easier.

So... is this just some sort of tablet PC? Because I've been hearing on TV that Apple is in talks with network carriers for the iPad. If its just a tablet PC why does it need a network carrier like Rogers and AT&T?

It has the option of a 3G antenna so that it can be used in places without Wi-Fi.

Its not the expensive when you compare it to a laptop. i will probablly replace to laptop in the next couple years.
A lot of you people don't realize that Apple stopped being a "geek tech" company ages ago. They are not selling this to the people who are overly obsessed with tech specs. They are selling this to someone like my Mom (Not a mac user, fyi), who wants essentially a larger iPod touch.

This thing would actually be useful if it could run real pc operating systems. But they decided to put their own non x86 compatible processor in it and all its usefulness has gone down the shitter. That processor would be pretty awesome if they put it in their iphone, but it's just too weak for this. If they've managed to put a core 2 duo in the macbook air, why the hell did they decide to use this weaksauce of a processor in their "revolutionary" tablet?
Ugh........just had a lecture all day and most of the students in my group ( about 30ish ) are apple fan-boys....... I've had to listen to they're shit all morning about how its revolutionary and so awesome looking and blah blah blah its cheaper than they thought it would be so they might get 2 ( yes they are that stupid )
on the other hand i had to do an essay on something of technology that design has had a big influence on and i did it on apple as a whole as just an excuse to bash them and i passed it with almost full marks..( turns out my lecturer hates apple and agrees with most of my arguments/debates ) I printed it out and gave it to the fanboys to read i tell you.....never had so many dead eyes and "im going to kill you then possibly rape you" looks in one day.
Damn there's some times in life where a shotgun really is required!............
