They've updated their FAQ, don't have the link at the moment (I got the information from TB on the TGS podcast)
Got the giantbomb article to load
Microsoft to Pull Complete Reversal on Xbox One DRM Policies
by Patrick Klepek on June 19, 2013
Sources indicate Microsoft is going to move away from what's caused the company so much headache.
The tug-of-war between Microsoft and Sony just got more interesting. Multiple sources inform me Microsoft will announce what amounts to a complete reversal on its DRM policies for Xbox One today.
What does this mean?
No more always online requirement
The console no longer has to check in every 24 hours
All game discs will work on Xbox One as they do on Xbox 360
An Internet connection is only required when initially setting up the console
All downloaded games will function the same when online or offline
No additional restrictions on trading games or loaning discs
Region locks have been dropped
It is unclear what caused this huge change in policy right after E3, a week where Microsoft executives spent days explaining, justifying, and talking about its policies to the press. I suspect Microsoft’s official announcement will say something to the effect of “we've been closely listening to consumer feedback.”
Based on what I’m being told, that’s definitely true.
I've reached out to Microsoft for comment.
This is the FAQ everyone's talking about, but the link to the updated version doesn't work for me

They confirmed things have changed, but haven't confirmed what changed yet.
-apparently I'm late-

Apparently the changes are in the bit that says 'please click here for the latest'.
Hope that's all true. And thanks all of you for telling me all that!
Alas, they were half way in their own grave. Removing the illness allows them to sink no further, but they're still in a grave.

Yes, but that's just a 404 at the moment
http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update
I really hope this is true, the Xbox site says they've changed things but no mention of what yet. It would be awesome if they actually have removed all the DRM.
If anyone gets the update page to load, post what is there here.
Lets get rid of that kinect shit too.
Just wait until the update page loads and they've made it more restrictive
Probably saw the PS4 shitting on it so they knew they had to change it to get people to buy it
It would be suicide if they didn't after the public response, TBH
And if they did, it would be suicide among their investors and publishers.
Microsoft fucked up no matter what, only now we'll see who they appreciate most.
The consumers, or the greedy stockholders & publishers
I wonder if this means preorder numbers have been shitty. I can't imagine they'd change anything if the console was selling well

The publishers have no choice anyway, no other platform has this always on bullshit, so they'll have to deal with it
man sony must've scared them bad
If anyone gets the update page to load, post what is there here.
Leads to a sort of 404 for me.

Hahahahaha, if they'd backpedal even harder they'd travel back in time.
Good news though.
man sony must've scared them bad
They should be scared, and I hope they are.
Maybe they ran out of cocaine and they're able to see the piece of shit they've created.

Update page is loading up.

"Page cannot be found.'
All these news links lead to a "page didn't exist". The page loads, but I always get that message. Still unconfirmed if you ask me.

Yeah, we only know they changed something

Why would the stockholders be upset that they're appeasing to a market that makes up a fair deal of their sales?
Is Giant Bomb News all that reliable?
watch it just be some minor detail about registration processes or something

Well the guy that wrote that says that he's heard that from other sources on twitter, so he knows about as much as us currently.

Not to mention it has only been days since E3... they still have months until release. I'm guessing it was some minor policy change in preparation to their next announcement.
