Well, I'm somewhat sold on the whole system, now.
At least it's no longer a completely one-sided affair any more for Sony. Competition and internet hate-campaigns can achieve miracles :v:
Surely the damage has been done though. Take for me example, I've been using the XBOX LIVE service for nearly 6 years and pretty much made my mind up I was not going to make the transition to the new console after the first 5 minutes of their E3 conference. I don't like the direction they're heading. I've seen the 360 slowly deteriorate from gaming to an MLG DORITO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM and I don't want to be apart of that anymore.
Remember the PS3
At least it's no longer a completely one-sided affair any more for Sony. Competition and internet hate-campaigns can achieve miracles :v:
I'm still willing to say that the PS4 is the better system, but now I'm willing to stay loyal to the Xbox system.
Ahaha holy shit microsoft you are the worst.
cool now get rid of the mandatory kinect
we also get all the neat benefits from this, like EA discontinuing online passes and shareable games on Steam. win win for us.
Well, I'm somewhat sold on the whole system, now.
I'm not so sure. PS4 has better hardware, less RAM usage, no spy-cam, AND it's cheaper. It may not be as bad as before, but the PS4 is still the better choice in almost every way.
so someone at Microsoft actually has a brain? Who knew
My theory was that the main CEO of the company had buried his head in cocaine and only brought it up to tell people what to put on the console. If that is true, the only explanation is that he ran out of cocaine.
Now the Xbox One actually looks like a good buy.
except ps3 has good games (now that it has them), it was never the dewrito console
599 US dollars, no games at launch, bulkiest thing to ever exist (at launch). Shit was fucked for a while but it eventually got back on it's feet and make a large presence. "Damage already done" will only affect a thing for so long.
Microsoft right now:
Changed the title to remove the childish "Micro$oft" thing. To me this sounds like desperate damage control. There's still a lot wrong with it such as the Kinect requirement and indies not being able to self-publish.
The xbox does look better now, but the Kinect, the price, and the fact that they did all this in the first place still makes me not want to get it over the PS4.

Microsoft threw huge amounts of marketing money at the Xbox One last week and had nothing to show for it when it should have been the strongest pre-order period for them until right before release.

This is neat news in the sense that Microsoft is backpedaling like a motherfucker but the army of bad still wash over it. The always on Kinect, the price point, the constant shitting on other locations in the world, advertisements and tv out the ass, the fact it's nowhere near as strong as the ps4 and much more just You can polish a piece of shit, but it's still shit.
That fucking back pedal, if only someone had the foresight to attach a motor to it, we could've sold all energy problems ever. That said, PS4 is significantly cheaper and i feel less liable to succumb to dumb fucking corporate practices.

You deserve it for not thinking.
Well, I'm somewhat sold on the whole system, now.
You would buy a system that sought to screw you over hoping the people would be complacent enough to just buy it. While I admit it shows the power of the internet, MS fucked up in a huge way, their focus was very TV orientated and the fact remains that most of the shit coming out of MS mouths were all lies (shockingly) so apparently it is easy to remove DRM and it does seem the whole "Power of the cloud" was bullshit. Personally I think it would send a bigger message if people still go for the PS4, to show MS that you don't even try to fuck with the consumer or it ends badly for you.
What are the chances Cliffy B shoots himself in the head after hearing this btw?
Looks like the Kinetic still needs to be plugged in all the time though.

Lost his job for what now is nothing. Lel.
Looks like the Kinetic still needs to be plugged in all the time though.
this is a far easier pill to swallow than the DRM nonsense.
Orth closed his twitter from the outside. Must of been a flood of #dealwithit replies.
Looks like the Kinetic still needs to be plugged in all the time though.
If you can turn everything about the kinect off then whats the problem. And almost every game introduced uses the voice commands in some way and a lot of the reviewers said it actually made the games better.
this is a far easier pill to swallow than the DRM nonsense.
I think they'll give you the ability to turn it COMPLETELY off if there's still enough uproar. That way they can still have their visions of "developers not leaving out people without Kinect" but also eases the mind of people who think they're being spied on.
You would buy a system that sought to screw you over hoping the people would be complacent enough to just buy it.
They fucked up, sure. The fact that they have changed (despite the fact that this is most likely damage control) at least allows me to buy the system without a bad taste in my mouth.

That way they can still have their visions of "developers not leaving out people without Kinect" but also eases the mind of people who think they're being spied on.
I doubt they would remove the inclusion of the Kinect with the One seeing as that gives some justification on the price point, but I would expect them to make it not need to be connected. Developers can have a notification going "yo we know you have a kinect since you buy an Xbox One. we got these cool features so if you want to try them out plug in your kinect" if they want to not leave anyone that cares out.

that's a fake account, btw
Well this certainly helps out quite a lot. I still have no plans however, to actually buy this over a ps4. I don't trust microsoft as a console company now.
