Her belief that it is wrong to be gay came from her religion, so it would be related here. Not sure how much she could pull with it here.
Her beliefs aren't incorrect. Stating that they are would be unconstitutional. Her action, on them, however, is, in the context of someone who is a counselor. Thus it doesn't matter where her beliefs came from, hence why religion is not an excuse here - and why Fox is being stupid for reporting this as an issue of persecution of religion. It's perfectly analogous to any other "Thought Crimes"

It's part of the job description. If your own ideology prevents you from doing that job, tough break. You knew what you were getting yourself into. Edit: I'ma rate myself for bad reading. Feel free to do the same.
Not necessarily. From what I understand, counseling gay youths was a requirement for the position she was studying for, and there were recorded incidents of her demonstrating antipathy toward homosexuals. It was a clear conflict of interest that would render her incapable of performing in that position. That's basically what I was trying to say, but just because her beliefs are based in religion doesn't mean her action on those beliefs is protected under freedom of religion. She would be free to be anti-homosexual if she didn't put those views onto the people she was counseling, however. Obviously in her case that's incorrect.

Glad to see there are other well-reasoned people on the same page as me, even if I somehow misread their positions entirely. My apologies.
Ugh. Discrimination against homosexuals is stupid.
Good she shouldn't be doing the job if she let's her beliefs cloud judgments and if they predispose her to have certain views of certain people.
There we go
